Corporate Affairs is comprised of 80+ talented communicators, community affairs professionals, and digital tacticians who grow Schwab’s story and strategy for our clients, public, and stakeholders, support our communities through giving, volunteerism and community sponsorships, drive the company’s internal and external channels, and deploy communications that support our strategic objectives and celebrate our employee experience. 


Our Corporate Affairs Operations Team is responsible for delivering the operational infrastructure and support that enable our professionals to do their jobs effectively every day. The Manager of Communications, Corporate Affairs Platform Strategy is a new role on the operations team that will focus primarily on the internal communications experience platform to help drive communications objectives. This role will administer the platform and provide support for platform users and will also be responsible for developing templates, best practices, and change management and communication materials to help drive adoption and use of the platform. This role will monitor and measure the effectiveness of employee communications on the Firstup platform and make recommendations for improvement based on feedback, engagement, and data analysis. 
This role works with the Corporate Affairs Channel Strategy and Experience team under the guidance of the Director of Communications. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Firstup Support and Counsel: Administer Firstup Communications platform including user set up, training, troubleshooting, coaching and measurement.
  • Develop and Maintain Standards: Ensure users are adhering to internal standards, policies and procedures for the platform and create visually engaging templates that adhere to the Charles Schwab brand voice and guidelines.
  • Measure and analyze results: Track the effectiveness of campaigns as well as reach of the overall internal communications platform and make data-driven recommendations to improve reach and impact of communications and platform adoption. 

What you have


To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree required in Communications, Journalism, English or related field.
  • 3+ years of employee communications experience that involves using and/or administering the Firstup platform or a comparable employee communications content management platform.
  • Ability to travel, if/when required (less than 5%).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional ability to build and sustain cross-functional relationships, with strong client service, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of communications and community affairs practice, including tools, platforms, and strategies.
    Experience in measuring the effectiveness of communications programs.  
  • Tactical change management skills and demonstrated success in building and implementing communications and change management campaigns.
  • Experience managing and maintaining internal communications tools including internal email, employee apps, content management systems, etc.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with ability to work with team members across multiple locations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strategic, results-oriented focus.
  • A highly collaborative working style effectively establishing trust and respect with high detail orientation.
