Your opportunity

Do you have an interest in becoming a Financial Consultant and working directly with clients? If so, the Schwab Financial Consultant Academy is the program for you!  As a future Financial Consultant, you will create meaningful relationships with clients and help connect them with Schwab products and services based on their needs.

We are currently accepting applications for our upcoming January and April 2026 Financial Consultant Academy cohorts in multiple locations!

The Schwab Financial Consultant Academy is a 15-month rotational program that prepares you to work in a client relationship and business development role while refining skills, gaining experience, and networking.  With a series of steps that include learning, on-the-job experience, and mentorship, the Financial Consultant Academy is designed to position you for success in a dynamic industry.

In this expedited program, you will start with studying for and passing the FINRA SIE, Series 7 & 66 exams in the first three months. You will then move on to a hands-on training rotation within our CS&S (Client Service & Support) organization where you will be an ambassador of Schwab helping to educate and solve problems by taking inbound calls that relate to service and trading interactions from retail clients (individual investors). Finally, during your last rotation you will receive wealth management training and on-the-job sales training.

While the ultimate goal is to see graduates from the FC Academy eventually become a Financial Consultant, upon graduation from the 15-month Academy, you will move into a business development (Investment Consultant or Financial Consultant Partner) role in your host location/team to continue refining your skills and gaining experience in orderto progress to a Financial Consultant role, generally within 1-2 years.

Throughout the FC Academy you can expect to:

  • Study and pass FINRA SIE, Series 7 and 66 licenses
  • Gain product and industry knowledge through live client interactions and wealth management training
  • Learn from our numerous mentors, coaches and leaders that aim to develop you and your career
  • Develop consultative skills through a needs-based process to provide helpful and relevant solutions to clients
  • Develop the unique skill of providing world-class service to clients while building market expertise in preparation for building individual client relationships
  • Be greeted with the collaborative and supportive nature that comes from working in a Schwab wealth management environment

Please indicate which cohort you are applying to and the location that you are interested in, in the screening questions portion of your application. Please note: At graduation from the FC Academy (FCA) the expectation is to see FCA graduates progress into a role with their selected host location. Please carefully consider which location(s) you submit your application for.
