Cost Basis Operations (CBO) is part of the Custody & Asset Services division of Operational Services. We are dedicated to leading a culture that delivers timely and accurate tax reporting in our efforts to create a premier client experience, while providing a controlled and disciplined environment that allows our employees to feel valued and engaged. Explore an exciting and challenging opportunity to join an exceptional team within Operational Services that provides cost basis updates, support, and resolution of client inquiries.

• Research and process cost basis adjustments for Retail and Advisor Services clients
• Reconcile positions and transactions against Schwab’s cost basis system of record
• Process cost basis edits and versus purchase requests
• Assist with bulk cost basis updates
• Research escalations
• Work collaboratively and effectively with others

What you have

To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Preferred Qualifications:

•  2+ years of experience in the financial services industry
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance or Economics
• Knowledge of IRS Cost Basis regulations in relation to broker/dealer reporting
• Series 7 license

• Highly motivated and results driven
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Requires accurate data entry skills
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for service quality
• Intermediate MS Excel skills, ability to work with large data sets
• Proven cost basis experience and knowledge framework
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, ever changing environment while maintaining the highest level of positivity and professionalism
• Good decision making and sound judgement skills are a must

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
