A Senior Team Manager, focused on Infrastructure and Platform Operations, is a leadership role that involves defining the long-term technical vision, managing teams, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of infrastructure and platform services. 

Essential Functions:

  • Leadership & Management:
    • Set team priorities and align them with broader organizational goals. 
    • Set clear expecations, provide feedback, and coach team members to foster growth and development.
    • Manage team health and staffing, ensuring the team has the resources and skills needed to succeed.
  • Technical Vision and Roadmap:
    • Participate in the development of the long-term technical vision and roadmap for infrastrcuture and platform services.
    • Esnure the roadmap aligns with anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.
    • Oversee systems designs and review product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems.
  • Infrastructure and Platform Expertise:
    • Ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of infrastructure and platform services.
    • Understand high-level architecture and design patterns.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in infrastructure and platform engineering.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with other teams including product, finance and customer facing teams to understand their needs and ensure alignment.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Build strong relationships and foster a culture of trust, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Delivery and Quality:
    • Ensure that infrastructure and platform related projects are delivered on time.
    • Maintain high standards of quality and reliability.
    • Provide feedback to automation engineers to ensure best practices.

What you have


Required Qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of infrastructure and platform technologies, VMs (Windows and Linux), network, cloud platforms (PCF, AWS, GCP), SRE tenets, and infrastructure as code.
  • Strong understanding of performance testing.  Familiarity with tools like JMeter, and/or LoadRunner.  Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases and their impact on performance. 

Leadership Skills:

  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and manage teams, set priorities, and make decisions. 

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. 

Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems, think critically, and make data-driven decisions. 

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science and/or a related field and 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, and people development. 

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
