We are seeking a versatile business analyst to perform business analysis, technical project management and scrum master for Schwab asset management (SAM) data team. This role is ideal for a professional with progressive experience in cloud native data platform who is ready to take on more responsibility and operate with minimal supervision. You will be integral to enabling and enhancing our data assets, data pipelines and supporting a data platform on Snowflake and Google Cloud. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, data-driven environment, contributing to the ongoing development and optimization of our data platform. 

This role involves driving project success, facilitating agile processes, and ensuring business objectives are met through effective analysis and communication. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Business/Data Analysis / Requirements:

  • Perform deep data analysis to understand data sources, source data quality and make assessment for data ingestion and data delivery.
  • Develop and maintain requirement documentation, process flows, use cases, and user stories. 
  • Partner with Data Governance , BI reporting and Product owners to enable the team on delivery of data products ( Data marts, Data Apis)
  • Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical requirements. 
  • Conduct data gap analysis and provide actionable recommendations. 
  • Define Conceptual / Logical Data modeling of Investment data domain entities
  • Define consumption views partnering with stakeholders – Business Intelligence/reporting and various operational teams.
  • Data mapping from data sources to define data model.
  • Gather and document business requirements. 

Technical Program Management: 

  • Assist the Delivery lead on overseeing the lifecycle of data projects through delivery.
  • Track project plans including timelines, milestones. 
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution. 
  • Monitor and report on project status and performance metrics. 
  • Coordinating with Product owner to guidance on requirements   guidance and support to teams. 

Scrum Master Duties: 

  • Enable team to facilitate agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives). 
  • Ensure the team adheres to Scrum principles and practices.
  • Remove impediments to team progress. 
  • Promote transparency, communication, and continuous improvement. 

What you have


Education: 

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

Experience: 

  • 10 + years’ experience as Data analyst / Product Owner / Business Analyst / Data Engineer in Investments/Asset management data domains, Investment front office, back office , Investment risk / performance processes
  • 10 + years in business analysis, technical program management, and/or Scrum Master roles. 
  • 5+ years' experience operating in Agile team environments and processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong experience in Python and frameworks like Pandas, Spark for data analysis.
  • Strong experience in Data Modeling – 3NF form and dimensional data modeling.
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in project management and agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence). 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Technical Expertise: 

  • Experience with software development, data analysis, and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure). 
  • Snowflake / Redshift
  • Strong SQL skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: CFA, CSM, PMP, PMI-ACP, or other relevant certifications.
  • Industry Experience: Finance, Investments
