What you’ll do:
Project Managers are responsible for establishing and leading enterprise-wide, cross functional strategic
initiatives. They lead a variety of different types of projects including launching new products and
services, large-scale application development, systems integration, operational efficiency
improvements, process reengineering, and infrastructure upgrades and deployments. We are currently
transitioning to a scaled agile model, therefore this role will need both traditional project management,
as well as scaled agile methodology experience.
Responsibilities:

Accountable for defining, planning, orchestrating, and delivering a given strategic initiative
including business, operational, and information technology deliverables
￿
Ensures end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable
business benefit
￿
Directs large-scale, complex projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents
and partners
￿
Directly manages all aspects of the project life cycle and oversees all phases of a project
￿
Rigorously manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost,
and quality parameters
￿Validates financial forecasts, cost assumptions, and provides on-going reconciliation of
resources and other related project expenditures
￿
Works with resource managers to ensure that resource capacity planning is accurately forecast,
and provides ongoing reconciliation of actual time spent against forecasts
￿
Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall
integrated delivery plan
￿
Handles risks and issues management for the project-level risks and interdependencies
￿
Partners with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to track Agile development milestones and
support Agile practices as needed
￿
Manages team relationships to ensure effective delivery
￿
Facilitates problem-solving and resolves stakeholder conflict
￿
Teaches, coaches, and mentors team members to remove roadblocks and drive project
execution

￿
Expertise with financial data and the technology, tools and processes that support work and
projects/programs
￿
Expert understanding of various software development methodologies, including Agile/Scrum
￿
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
￿
Ability to execute with limited information and ambiguity

What you have


￿8+ years of project management experience, managing multiple large, complex and cross
functional projects, with emphasis on product development, systems, and technical
environments
￿
8+ years of experience with project management tools and artifacts, including MS Project, Jira,
Confluence, SharePoint, project budgets, change requests, status reports, etc.
￿
Demonstrated ability to mobilize and motivate teams, set direction and approach, resolve
conflict, deliver tough messages with grace
￿ 1-3 years of Schwab Cost basis Tax experience as a current or recent contractor or employee
￿
Proven experience with and understanding of various software development methodologies,
including Agile/Scrum
￿
Proven ability to quickly build relationships and earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders
￿Demonstrated, applied experience establishing and delivering complex projects
￿
Experience playing an active role implementing a scaled agile methodology
￿
BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience
Preferred Skills:
￿
Release Train Engineer experience, preferred
￿
Background/experience in financial services industry
￿
PMP or PMI-ACP certification
