In this role you will have the opportunity to work alongside an established team of Project Managers that directly support Schwab Asset Management, driving initiatives forward from initial sizing through execution and delivery with a “white glove” approach. You will play a critical role in developing project plans to execute on strategic initiatives while partnering with business leaders and cross-functional teams within and outside of Schwab Asset Management. The types of initiatives vary overtime based on the priorities of the business and include ETF, MF or separately managed account launches, product enhancements, implementation of new regulatory requirements, among a variety of other strategic priorities. This person will be involved in coordinating key decision making as part of the project delivery and driving those decisions forward to completion as part of the initiative. In addition to traditional project management, the SAM Product and Business Implementation team members facilitate the Product Development process to determine governance and our Material Non-Public Information standards to execute projects that require a Non-Disclosure Agreement to maintain our information barriers policies.

Key Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Possess exceptional organizational, leadership and communication skills
  • Proven track record of managing projects from initiation through completion
  • Proactive problem solving
  • Lead development of project management plans to align with SAM strategies and initiatives. 
  • Work with business partners and other leaders to synchronize work, align on goals, and make trade-off decisions to optimize for successful initiative deliver
  • Ability to guide and coordinate cross-functional teams on a collaborative way
  • Foresee potential challenges within the project and develop plans with the business leaders and other cross-functional partners to proactively address them
  • Propose sound, well-supported, fact-based recommendations on how to optimize project management
  • Effective document and clearly communicate updates to the project team while identifying key next steps with individuals accountable for delivery

What you have


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of project management or asset management experience managing multiple large, complex, and cross functional projects
  • Strong proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and Word and other project management planning tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; set direction and approach; resolve conflict; execute with limited information and ambiguity
  • Excellent communicator, proactive listening and ability to tailor message to diverse audience
  • Ability to navigate and be successful in a highly matrixed organization
  • Sound business and technical acumen
  • Focused and versatile team player that is comfortable under pressure
  • Demonstrated experience establishing and delivering complex projects
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Knowledge and familiarity with project management tools and methodologies
  • Experience in the asset management or financial services industry

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
