Operational Control supports Operational Services in managing risk through a well-balanced control environment. The organization owns more than 40 applications, digital products, and business led development/EUCs that support the digital client experience, record retention and retrieval, reconciliations of the Firm’s books and records, regulatory communications, and various systems tied to risk management and control performance throughout Operational Services.

The Manager, IT Product Management serves as a Product Owner (PO) of applications and EUCs owned by Operations Control. The PO will be responsible for facilitating the development and support of our ongoing modernization of the Operations Control application portfolio, with a primary emphasis on the SAFE and Doc’Drive products and potentially other digital oriented applications. The role demonstrates its business and technical expertise in partnership with technology and business partners to execute on a strategic vision including participation in design, requirement development, prioritization, development, testing, and certification activities. As a part of the Platform Strategy and Support team, the PO will lead diverse aspects of core Operations Control functionality, the digital client experience, and will require a mix of business and technical knowledge and possess a good understanding of the securities industry and software development life cycle.

The team is responsible for:

  • Client Focus – Developing a deep empathy of the client and her needs, understanding the internal and external product landscape, and solving problems at scale.
  • Platform Strategy - Envision the future and build the long-term roadmap for the platform that powers our client journey.
  • Cross-Enterprise Experiences - Collaborate with design, technology, and business partners to build digital experiences that our clients are passionate about.

What you’ll do – championing product and customer needs:

  • You will be responsible for strategic vision and technical execution of our experiences.
  • You will translate product vision into specific deliverables and ensure rigor in execution and attention to detail by effectively managing the product backlog and leading a development scrum team.
  • You will be at the forefront of evolving the way we work across teams and the company by practicing design thinking, outcome-orientation, data driven decision making, and product experimentation.

What you’ll do - proactive problem-solving:

  • You will frame challenges as problems that are solved through critical thinking and collaboration.
  • You will focus on business impact and come up with actionable recommendations informed by high quality data analysis and metrics.
  • You will build key relationships, effectively lead a development scrum team, and influence teams across the enterprise to drive scale and deliver shared outcomes.

What you have


  • Strong digital product management skills ideally focused on the cross-enterprise utilities, experience with enterprise platforms, and demonstrated ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data from multiple sources.
  • Experience in leading and directing a technology scrum team.
  • High emotional intelligence to embody our ‘through the client’s eyes’ mindset and ability to lead people through challenging projects and initiatives.
  • Self-starter with outstanding organizational skills and ability to track multiple projects in parallel.
  • Experience working in a large organization with many stakeholders.
  • Comfort in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment, with a positive attitude and solid work ethic.
  • Superior communication skills, able to communicate complex messages and trade-offs and tell a compelling story.

Education and Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience required. Post graduate degree is a plus.
  • Experience in the financial services industry and/or regulatory communication preferred.

Tools - Experience with any of the following tools and systems:

  • Confluence, SharePoint, SQL, Opentext Exstream, JIRA, IBM Mainframe, Adobe suite.
  • Experience writing queries and extracting reporting from data warehouses
  • Experience with vendor solutions and engagement a plus.
