Schwab’s Wealth Management Products & Platforms team is seeking a Sr. Product Manager to be responsible for supporting digital product experiences for advisors and clients in Schwab largest wealth management offer. Your responsibilities include identifying and evaluating our wealth management capabilities and services, user needs, current market trends, vendor solutions, and emerging technology to identify opportunities for transformation of the advice delivery experience. The capabilities in this area will help form the basis of how the firm evolves in the wealth management space to help our clients reach their financial goals.

Members of the team who are highly successful have a passion for the client and user experience with a deep understanding of investment management concepts, demonstrate the ability to excel in ambiguity, think creatively and expansively, leverage data, balance tight timelines with multiple priorities and risks, to make decisions and optimize outcomes and deliver results. They must collaborate effectively with business and technology partners and be able to coordinate across functional teams and enterprises to deliver platform changes that support business outcomes. 

What You’ll do:

The Senior Product Manager (individual contributor) acts as a leader and works cross-functionally with leaders and executive partners from other Schwab business units, Technology, Legal, Compliance, and User Experience Design teams. They implement new methods for connecting our internal and external advice capabilities with our clients and internal users focused on driving outcomes through a data-based methodology.

This role requires a solid understanding of the financial services and the wealth management landscape, the ability to navigate complex partnerships, build long-term relationships across the organization, and negotiate creative solutions to deliver advice at scale large scale.

  • Develop a deep understanding of our users and leverage data in the design of new processes and interactions to enhance the overall user experience
  • Analyze existing and future internal tools (proprietary and third party) and develop strategies for creating and integrating experiences for the future
  • Lead product discovery activities working with internal and third parties to design future solutions in collaboration with other Product Managers, technology leads and architects across enterprises
  • Build a product roadmap to articulate and drive priorities
  • Create release plans in coordination with scrum teams and other lines of business
  • Manage development efforts and technology scrum teams: writing user stories, refining the backlog, and working with User Experience designers

What you have


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong digital product management skills including experience with design thinking and client journeys for wealth products
  • 5-7 years of product management / product development within financial services 
  • Experience in Agile development practices leading multiple teams as Product Owner
  • Highly developed communication and presentations skills with a superior ability to effectively communicate and present complex concepts and issues to leadership teams in a highly compelling, persuasive, fact-based manner
  • Highly skilled at working cross functionally with technology, service, marketing and product teams to create, implement and evolve our reporting solutions offering tangible, measurable client results
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and creative problem-solving skills
  • A positive attitude, solid work ethic, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post graduate degrees, and securities industries licenses
  • Experience with investment management and/or financial planning systems and software
  • Knowledge of Schwab products, services and support systems
