Schwab’s Wealth & Advice Solutions (WAS) organization offers industry-leading wealth management investment products and solutions to both retail and registered investment advisor (RIA) clients.

Within WAS, the Senior Manager, Third-Party Asset Manager Relationship Management will be a part of the Investment Offers & Solutions (IOS) group’s Mutual Fund and ETF platform relationship management team.   Our mission is to provide a positive experience for Schwab clients that invest in these products.

The Senior Manager, Third-Party Asset Manager Relationship Management will be responsible for helping shape plans for new initiatives which include

  • Developing and leading an end-to-end process for the creation, negotiation and execution of contracts with third-party asset managers
  • Partnering with key stakeholders to negotiate relationship terms

What you have


Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience managing complex initiatives in the financial services industry.
  • Mutual Fund and ETF industry experience.
  • Experience with legal contracts and their business implications including the ability to quickly interpret complex terms, identify risks or ambiguities that impact stakeholders.
  • Experience negotiating contract terms with external parties and the utilization of both assertiveness and diplomacy to reach favorable outcomes.
  • Strong project management experience with cross-functional project management and relationship building skills; can work in both a strategic and executional capacity.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Prior experience with wealth or asset management
  • Understanding of SQL and database management systems
  • Experience with Morningstar
  • Critical thinking skills to break down complex situations and pinpoint root causes with a focus on solutions to drive improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to zoom in to scrutinize specifics while also zooming out to understand how those details fit into broader goals.
  • Possesses emotional intelligence and strong communication skills to build trust and align others with a vision or goal to gain buy-in.
  • Highly resourceful, adaptable, and creative problem solver, who can thrive in a dynamic environment, solve issues with urgency as they arise, and drive progress in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong communication skills: articulate, clear and compelling in speech and writing.
  • Ability to tell stories with data and develop them into robust presentations.
  • A positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.
