Centralized application management represents a high-visibility opportunity to influence innovation, Agile adoption, and implement business-critical change in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment. The Application data and AI solutions Senior Manager role will be part of will provide technical expertise to the EORM team and will be responsible for end-to-end data integration solutions for applications that supports corporate risk management platforms.

What you’ll do:

As a member of Risk Technology and Application Management (RTAM), the candidate will be responsible for supporting risk application related infrastructure, data and reporting through identifying, analyzing and documenting business objectives and issues for development of solutions by the application teams. Additionally, the candidate will ensure that all existing processes of the team function in a manner as directed by the Corporate Operational Risk management team. The ideal candidate has designed and implemented cross enterprise data platforms both cloud-based and on-premises. They will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing data architectures for application use to ensure the availability, scalability, and reliability of our data solutions. The individual will need to display thought leadership through understanding the key business objectives and strategically providing data integration solutions to support the data domain within the larger data strategy of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide critical support for data and reporting teams across numerous applications in Corporate Risk Management.
  • Coordinate with centralized reporting and data teams to ensure proper connections to data are available.
  • Ensure appropriate support for deployed data solutions in enterprise and operational risk management applications.
  • Lead and often participate in testing efforts to ensure that requirements are implemented in a way that corresponds to the need of the stakeholder.
  • Act as the Application Data Manager for applications that develop the system solutions you are accountable for.
  • Responsible for decision and oversight of what to develop, as well as what not to develop, through ordering and grooming the system backlog.
  • Meet, build relationships, and gather requirements from various stakeholders and document those requirements in a manner consistent with department standards.
  • Must have mindset to automate where possible.
  • Contribute to the future state of model development infrastructure and data patterns toward advancing AI/ML capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

Business Competencies:

  • 5+ years of experience working in Finance/Banking/Risk Management related projects
  • Independent judgment with strong analytical skills
  • Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability in communicating with different business partners
  • Experience in an environment where demands and methods are constantly changing
  • Understanding best practices of data governance, security, data quality, and compliance requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Technical Competencies:

  • 12+ years of experience in data architecture/engineering role for large scale enterprise class data platform
  • Data Warehouse and ETL knowledge or experience
  • Deep understanding of data ingestion pipelines, data modeling, data acquisitions, storage, integration and data migration
  • Understanding of a relational data model and experience in data extraction across multiple related objects/tables
  • Proficiency in designing and optimizing large-scale data architectures, including the use of cloud platforms
  • Strong programming skills in a modern programming language (e.g., Python, C++, PySpark/Spark) and familiarity with object-oriented coding principle
  • Strong technical expertise with MS SQL Server, Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery and Jupyter,
  • Experience with LLMs (preferred: IBM Watson, Gemini, Llama)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with tools such as Palantir and NICE Actimize
  • Familiarity with Ontology and data Fabrics
