The Product Owner/Business Analyst will play a key role in organizing and driving work within and across the Reference Data platforms, Fundamental Data Master (FDM), Enterprise Security Master (ESM) and ITEM. Core responsibilities include partnering with business stakeholders, business analysts, and technology leads on requirements analysis, and taking a lead role in key meetings for platform evolution and data quality.

The team is responsible for supporting the platforms intended to transform how security market reference data is managed across the firm as a strategic enterprise asset. One of the functions of the Product Owner/Business Analyst is to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the data quality and completeness for all Fixed Income, Equity and Mutual Fund securities.

Daily work involves production support, data analytics, change management, and business requirements analysis.

What you’ll do: 

To be effective in this role and successfully minimize aggregate risk to the firm, candidate must have experience with securities and markets to deliver superior customer service to both our internal and external clients, while demonstrating flexibility and good judgment in prioritizing multiple tasks for complex processes. This role will leverage a variety of tools, information sources and experience, contribute to the research and provision of timely and accurate trading security data for use across the firm to support front, middle and back-office processes.

In this role you will provide extensive technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that meet user requirements. You will be a liaison between business partners and technology teams, partnering closely with the technology leads across multiple applications to understand project and application strategy as well as drive delivery of solutions.

Required qualifications

  • Emphasis on systems, technologies, business process redesign, and knowledge of technical environments
  • Strong orientation to clients, including ability to understand needs and apply this knowledge to product enhancements, online user experience, and communication content (internal and external)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - ability to quickly analyze data to identify key insights and apply them to the business
  • Demonstrable communication skills, including presentation development
  • Demonstrated prioritization skills under time constraints
  • Self-starter who takes ownership of their career development and learning
  • Product and project management skills. Business judgment, including ability to balance resources, and evaluate and address risks
  • Competence in Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Knowledge of the trading, operations, settlement and reporting processes in a regulatory environment
  • Working knowledge of Mutual Fund, Fixed Income, Exchange Traded, Option, and Equity products
  • Mandatory- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Mandatory- 3-5 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry
  • Mandatory- Proficient in writing SQL queries

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with security master data applications or equivalent platform support experience
  • Experience with working in Agile environment and operating out of JIRA
  • Financial/Trading background
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses preferred (Ability to obtain optional)
