Your opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us challenge the status quo and transform the finance industry together.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration, and we fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work onsite in the specified locations.

Charles Schwab is the largest publicly traded broker-dealer in the financial services industry. We offer our Retail and Institutional clients a wide range of products and services that are available to purchase through dedicated relationship models, periodic advice from Schwab employees, and direct to client through digital platforms. The Central Marketing enterprise is responsible for delivering solutions, experiences, and communications to ensure the best outcomes for clients, drive growth, and safeguard the Schwab brand.

The Client Service and Regulatory Communications team is part of the Central Marketing organization at Charles Schwab. Our team is responsible for managing the development, production, and tracking of account-related communications to clients across many different business units.

Our new Senior Manager will also be an integral part of our robust and responsive crisis communications team. When the worst happens, we are always there to support our clients; our crisis communications have covered everything from COVID and California wildfires to the recent market effects of tariffs. This responsive role carries with it the responsibility of being able to work outside of office hours, which occasionally includes weekends and holidays.

We work with key stakeholders (internal clients and business partners) to craft and deliver non-promotional communications to clients. These include, but are not limited to, regulatory notices, ongoing account service updates, and ad-hoc incident communications. Our goal is to create clear, client-friendly, efficiently produced communications that reinforce the Schwab brand.

First and foremost, you must be able to demonstrate a passion for communication—what is being said, and how it’s expressed. Even while containing non-promotional content, the communications our team develops are “Unstuffy” and are packed with empathy and human-to-human connection. Our responsibility is to anticipate our clients’ needs and craft communications that put the client at the center of everything we do, reinforcing our role as a trusted partner.

We're looking for a Senior Manager to:

  • Manage the development of client service and regulatory communications that meet business, brand, and compliance requirements—often against tight deadlines.
  • Manage large, high-visibility, high-impact communications projects and be prepared to present projects/results to senior management.
  • Develop communications strategies when presented with a communication need.
  • Take a consultative approach to project requests.
  • Foster and maintain healthy working relationships with internal partners across Schwab, including operations and product managers, copywriters, and compliance managers.
  • Lead cross-functional teams that include these internal partners when needed.
  • Learn, adhere to, and help streamline processes for creative development, production, and compliance review.
  • Advocate for the best client experience possible.
  • Become part of a fun, engaged team.

What you have

To ensure that we fulfill our promise of “challenging the status quo,” this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, related field of equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in client communications across multiple channels (direct mail, email, online, etc.).
  • Ability to analyze and translate complex regulatory and procedural communication requests to a creative team to ensure a clear and client-friendly communication is the final deliverable.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong communications skills, including writing and editing.
  • Strong initiative and high level of comfort with asking questions, making decisions, and executing on decisions made by others.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, often with competing deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills to flesh out each communication’s objectives and understand the impact on the client experience.
  • Willingness and interest in learning about Schwab products and services, regulatory requirements, and creative development and business processes.
  • Desire to be part of a team of driven communications managers who take great pride in their work and are committed to ensuring the best possible client experience.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to influence through persuasion versus direct authority.
  • Experience in writing creative briefs is preferred.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
