Schwab’s Digital Wealth Platforms (DWP) team is responsible for defining and delivering amazing digital advice solutions to help our clients reach their goals.  Through our Schwab Intelligent Portfolios® and Schwab Intelligent Portfolios Premium® offers, today we serve over 500,000 client accounts and $80B of assets under management.  Our team partners with technology, design, data, and other stakeholders to understand what clients value in digital advice and provide solutions to meet those needs. 

The Digital Advice Product team within DWP is looking for a Senior Product Manager with demonstrated ability to lead and deliver multiple solutions in an evolving landscape.

What you will do

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering technology solutions in support of the Digital Advice strategy.  You will serve as the product owner (PO) for up to two development teams, with accountability for parts of the digital advice offer landscape.  This may include client-facing experiences in web and mobile channels, internal tools used by Schwab colleagues to support the offer, and/or platform services that make it all work.

  • Partnership – Work with our team of business stakeholders, other Schwab product owners, offer partners, design partners, business analysts, and developers in an Agile environment.
  • Execution – Own and drive the product development and release lifecycle to bring new and enhanced capabilities to clients, including the definition, creation, development, and implementation of the solutions that help us achieve our mission.
  • Communication – Transparency is highly valued in our team. This role will require frequent verbal and written outreach to partners and stakeholders to solicit input, share our vision, persuade, and inform.
  • Client Focus – Understand the big picture of how our team supports Wealth & Advice Solutions’ strategy and how your role fits in, while keeping our clients’ needs in mind.

What you have


To ensure that we meet our team’s challenging objectives, this role has several qualifications that the successful candidate will should have.

Required qualifications:

  • 5+ years product management or product ownership experience
  • Strong product management skills - ability to synthesize data and stakeholder feedback into insights and actions
  • Risk management – ability to anticipate risks, weigh them against benefits, and recommend a balanced range of options
  • Ability to serve as the Product Owner for Agile development teams, including managing team ceremonies, planning and roadmapping sessions, and release management activities
  • Familiarity with Scrum and Kanban Agile frameworks to successfully work with teams using either one
  • Familiarity with basic systems architecture concepts (APIs, databases, front-end vs. back-end)
  • High attention to detail and the ability to see things through from concept to implementation
  • Release management experience – planning and completing delivery of the development team’s solutions into the Schwab technology environments
  • Successfully able to prioritize and manage workload to support one or more assigned development teams in regularly delivering value.
  • Experience participating in cross functional projects, with an emphasis on systems, technologies, business process redesign and/or impact to field and customer service
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience

Preferred experience:

  • Managed more than one development team at the same time
  • Outcomes focus – ability to think beyond requirements and deliverables to explain the “why” behind what we do
  • Flexibility – ability to take in stride changes to people, process, and product

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
