Schwab Stock Plan Services (SPS) within Workplace Services (WS) provides a variety of solutions to large, public and private companies for the administration of their Equity Compensation plans, including stock options, restricted stock, employee stock purchase programs, and cap tables. The Private Issuer Equity Services segment of our business is supported via strategic partnership with a third-party vendor who specializes in an administration platform for private companies. Our mission is to provide a world-class experience for our clients and to provide the opportunity for the employees of our corporate clients to achieve their financial goals as their company life cycle progresses.

The Solutions Architect is a key member of the SPS organization. In this role you will work closely with the sales team, client service teams, product teams, our private equity third-party administration provider and prospects to gain a better understanding of their administrative needs and present solutions from our existing technology suite to meet those needs.  This role will focus on the private equity administration space to support the launch of our Private Issuer Equity Services offer.

What you’ll do:

  • Quickly learn all aspects of the offer including the business-to-business (B:B) and business-to-consumer (B:C) service model, the administration platform, all aspects of the onboarding process, the conversion process at initial public offering (IPO), and understand how our service offer will change in the coming years as our technology develops.
  • Partner with sales to present our service and technology offer to private company prospects either in person or virtually. 
  • Lead discovery and consultation conversations with prospects to assess needs and recommend solutions.
  • Identify non-standard service requests and coordinate with business acceptance, sales, leadership, administration teams, risk and legal to evaluate feasibility.
  • Support SPS conversion team as well as third party administrator by communicating prospect needs identified during sales process to further support the transition from sales to conversion.
  • Assist the business acceptance team with request for proposal (RFP) responses.
  • Participate in product meetings and collaborate with Schwab and third-party administrator’s product teams to stay informed on new features.
  • Assist in training business partners
  • Stay updated on industry trends and participate in industry conferences.
  • Provide feedback and insights to product teams when enhancements are identified.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with an ability to quickly build relationships with prospects, our clients and internal partners
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism, and strong work ethic with high level of integrity and ethics
  • 10+ years of equity compensation experience in the public and/or private sectors
  • 5+ years’ experience with SPS or similar administrative platforms; and ability to quickly learn technological features and explain those features to prospects
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and prioritize competing deadlines
  • Strong business analysis, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and troubleshooting skills with a high attention to detail
  • Collaborative team player focused on optimal outcomes for clients and prospects
  • Ability to balance prospect’s needs and effectively communicate our service and technology best practices
  • Ability to travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with equity compensation in the private sector
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • CEP certification
