Director, Head of Consultant Relations

Schwab believes consultant intermediary partners are critical to the growth and success of our Workplace Financial Services organization. As the Director, Head of Consultant Relations, you will be tasked with creating and executing a plan to drive additional opportunities for our sales team and help to retain existing clients. These goals will be achieved by engaging our consultant partners regarding both Schwab's overall offering, as well as helping with the retention of existing clients whom the consultants offer ongoing support. What you have


  • BA/BS preferred.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses required. A Condition of Employment may be considered for highly qualified candidates.
  • FINRA fingerprinting required.

What will set you apart?

  • 10+ years financial services related work experience (in sales, retirement consulting, and/or relationship management)
  • 5+ years of experience in Consultant Relations
  • Have existing and/or the ability to create strong relationships with key consulting firms and their internal decision makers.
  • In depth knowledge of retirement plan markets, equity markets, and investment solutions.
  • Public speaking skills to represent Schwab on panels and workshops at industry events.
  • Experience leading relationship management team and/or sales teams.
  • Create strategy around a consultant coverage model that drives business results in the Workplace business.
  • Success communicating via multiple channels and building strong business relationships across many Schwab business lines.
  • Will travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight stays, via air travel, train, and/or automobile to various states to attend meetings with key parties within assigned distribution channels. Normal working conditions, remote available.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strict deadlines.
  • Desire and ability to help develop internal partners with talent development and training. 
  • Coach direct reports to have strategic business plan to drive new sales opportunities.
