As a member of the SAMS Technology team, you will be immersed in a collaborative, innovative, and technically challenging environment.  We're looking for engineers who are enthusiastic about learning new and existing technologies to drive exceptional production resiliency of our software products and systems. The role will require a strong work ethic, problem solving skills, and the ability to partner with business and technologists across the organization. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successfully supporting enterprise level applications and platforms. The role will require a high level of responsibility and accountability.

The Platform Integration organization contains two teams that specialize in one of the following areas: database support or IT asset management. This role is on the database support team which requires some exposure to database administration task, troubleshooting, and performance tuning. Our organization supports SQL Server, Oracle and PostgreSQL with SQL Server covering the bulk of our applications.

What you have


  • 3-5 years of progressive experience supporting software deployment pipelines, database administration related tasks, and system configuration.
  • Experienced in motivating change through automation, and passionate about adopting and driving a DevOps model.
  • Responsibility for applications support primarily in lower (non-production) environments.
  • Experience with setting, implementing, and reporting on operational critical metrics. Experience in planning, implementation, and support of business application components, including release management and release engineering.
  • Broad and deep knowledge of IT/software technology trends, infrastructure support, application development, public cloud, web services, middleware, operating systems, databases, networking, security, and business intelligence.
  • Agile methodologies and partnering with Agile development teams. Skilled at process design and improvement.
  • Ability to grasp difficult concepts, large architectures, and sophisticated designs quickly.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related experience.
  • Atlassian suite (JIRA, BitBucket, Confluence, Bamboo). Using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Atlassian tools, Github, and Remedy.
  • Has worked with cloud-based service models. Experience with PaaS such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF).
  • ITIL proficiency using problem management standard methodologies.
  • Database administration skillset to establish data backup and recovery procedures, monitoring, query optimization tasks, and the ability assess data needs for server sizing requirements.
  • Experience with SQL Server, Oracle and PostgreSQL performing DBA tasks and migrating data.
  • Splunk, App Dynamics, Linux & Windows system administration, troubleshooting, and tuning.
  • Experience supporting vendors and SaaS application platforms.
  • Experience working in financial or banking industry.
