Managing Director, Digital Wealth Solutions

The Managing Director, Digital Wealth Solutions, is a pivotal digital leadership role, directly responsible for shaping the future of our wealth management business. The Managing Director and their team will have responsibility for leading efforts to modernize, monetize and grow digital wealth management.  They will partner with advisors, clients, and partners to incept best-in-class digital feature sets and build key products.

Key Outcomes:

  • Define and execute the innovative digital wealth management strategy and ensure investments are future-proof and scalable for Schwab’s long-term success, with a particular emphasis on serving as the integration point across several modernization efforts.
  • Lead execution efforts across ETFs, Alternatives and Wealth Advisory and other Managed Investing products including delivering front-end experience and operational capabilities.
  • Independently lead and navigate the complexities of current data, capabilities, and platforms, collaborating closely with other MDs, technical, and data leaders.
  • Partner with advisors, clients, and cross-functional leaders at the highest levels, ensuring our digital offerings anticipate and exceed evolving client needs.
  • Lead product development lifecycle, ensuring at every stage—from ideation to launch— the work aligns with the organization’s strategic objectives and risk management standards.
  • Champions cross-functional collaboration, influencing senior leaders across technology, operations, compliance, and client services to align strategic priorities and execution.
  • Provides decisive business direction, making key decisions further establishing our position as the leading digital wealth management platform.
  • Translates high-level strategy into actionable roadmaps, holding accountability for delivering results on time and within budget.
  • Work closely with risk management and governance teams to integrate solutions quickly and effectively into the broader ecosystem including installing risk mitigants and driving accountability to ensure timely and flawless delivery of strategic objectives.
  • Drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, proactively identifying emerging trends and technologies to maintain the firm’s leadership in digital wealth solutions.
  • Establishes and safeguards the integrity of our data foundation, recognizing that robust data management is essential for regulatory compliance, error detection, and unlocking new growth opportunities.
  • Serves as the final escalation point for critical issues, ensuring that risks are identified and mitigated before they impact clients or the business.

What you have


Required Experience:

  • 10+ years’ experience in building, shaping and leading digital wealth platforms, products and offers in a wealth management environment of similar scale and complexity.
  • Breadth of investment product strategy, development and operations.
  • Deep wealth management and enterprise-level product management expertise with the experience to launch and grow sophisticated digital products.
  • Industry-leading perspectives to close competitive gaps and ensure market leadership.
  • Able to adeptly partner with a diverse set of stakeholders, demonstrating refined skills in new and emerging areas where roles and responsibilities may be ambiguous including clarifying ownership, building alignment, and driving progress even in environments of uncertainty.
  • Executive presence/ awareness to convey complex concepts through various mediums in relatable terms and anchored in business meaning across various use cases (broad strategic questions, targeted strategic initiatives, board-level communications, etc.)
  • Demonstrated passion and curiosity and willingness to offer bold perspectives to challenge the status quo.
  • A passion for building robust capabilities and scaling across multiple channels and experience and track record of maintaining and scaling sophisticated digital wealth products.
  • Deep knowledge of the technologies delivering wealth management and their risk frameworks.
  • Experience in successfully gathering data and synthesizing insights to understand client needs, attitudes, and emotions and inform design and positioning of products and services
  • Leadership and relationship-building skills, including ability to influence and build consensus across experience design, product, technology, marketing, regulatory, and other areas of the firm and all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree required. Post graduate degree is a plus.

  • Ability to build strong relationships through collaboration across multiple levels of the organization motivating colleagues to get things done effectively; is sought out for counsel and feedback and contributes to cross-functional teams and initiatives.
  • Purpose driven leader who displays confidence and courage in business and talent decisions, actions and communications with a demonstrated ability to take decisive action when needed including championing ideas, position or dissent.
  • Strong people leader who enables leaders and their high-performing teams
  • Effective relationship builder – ability to partner cross-functionally, cross-enterprise and work effectively with various levels of the organization as well as various personality types
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong preference for CFP, CFA and/or a series 24
