Corporate Real Estate leads the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities. Creates and executes real estate strategic plans to enable business growth and flexibility. Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs. Designs and develops organizational policies relevant to the facilities department. Oversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services and facilities expansion.

The Technology Project Manager partners with Technology and Real Estate Teams to handle real estate construction projects with an emphasis on technology and associated disciplines. The project manager develops and documents project plans, budgets and schedules and handles scope and risk throughout the life of the project. The project manager will translate business requirements into functional and cost-effective technology requirements that meet the needs of Schwab’s business and technology groups. The project manager will work with technology and security partners to identify, interpret, and communicate structured cabling and hardware requirements to internal/external partners and stakeholders.

The project manager is also accountable for maintaining compliance with Schwab as well as industry standards and guidelines. Collaborate with General Contractor, MEP Engineering and Architectural firms as needed to ensure structured cabling and hardware environmental requirements are clearly understood.

What you’ll do

  • Manage Corporate Real Estate (CRE) projects requiring technical project management, defining scope, work plans, milestones, and resource allocation
  • Create project budgets, procure bids/proposals, manage purchase orders and invoice reconciliation
  • Follow CRE audit guidelines related to record keeping and project close-out documentation
  • Create technology project schedules and engage necessary resources
  • Manage risk by controlling costs, setting timelines, and mitigating technical challenges
  • Provide timely and regular updates to project stakeholders and management
  • Facilitate regular project meetings and publish meeting minutes promptly
  • Work closely with Design and Construction on project plan development including red-line reviews and pro-type drawings
  • Communicate business needs/requirements to technology resources and bridge any gaps between project team and stakeholders
  • Travel to retail or service center locations as the project requires – up to 50% travel
  • Adhere to and promote Corporate Real Estate methodologies, objectives, and requirements
  • Complete required department and company training
  • Perform Remedy work order management ensuring timely response, resolution, and close-out
  • Interact with team members, project resources, and vendors with professionalism
  • Complete special projects individually or as part of a work group as needed
  • Any other duties as directed by the Team Manager and Director

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site four days per week in the specified locations.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of project management experience managing large, complex, and cross-functional projects with emphasis on IT infrastructure systems and technologies
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, meet partners’ needs and manage their expectations through effective communication
  • Experience meeting with and presenting to all levels of leadership
  • Able to travel up to 50%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree
  • Background experience in construction management
  • Conversant with relevant industry standards including TIA and BICSI structured cabling standards, and a working familiarity with how these standards are implemented
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, Visio, Word, Office365, and Bluebeam with background in AutoCAD strongly preferred
  • PMP certification
