Group Overview

Fraud Risk Oversight (FROST) is a team within the Fraud Risk Management group (FRM) in Financial Crimes Risk Management.  FRM is responsible for the design and oversight of Schwab’s fraud risk management program, which protects client and firm assets through prevention and mitigation of fraud losses. FROST is responsible for coordinating and performing Second Line of Defense (2LOD) oversight of Schwab’s fraud risk management program.  FROST regularly engages with First Line of Defense (1LOD) and 2LOD stakeholders throughout the fraud risk management lifecycle to share information on fraud trends and control updates.  FROST is also responsible for providing guidance and effective challenge to the 1LOD on fraud control design and performance.

Fraud Risk Oversight Analytics and Research (FROST A&R) analysts play a critical role in the firm’s fraud risk management program. They are responsible for maintaining a full view of the fraud life cycle across all Schwab products, including new accounts, asset transfers, trading, wires, ACH, Visa debit cards, bill pay, journals, and other products.  FROST A&R analysts leverage a broad range of data to identify fraud trends; monitor the design and performance of applicable fraud models, rules, decision strategies, and other controls; and conduct other research into fraud risks and mitigation strategies.  They leverage the results of these reviews to provide guidance and effective challenge to 1LOD business partners, support leadership reporting, and advise senior leadership on fraud risk management program design.
