Managing Director, AS Relationship Management

Advisor Services at Charles Schwab is the leading provider of custodial, operational, and trading support for independent fee-based investment advisors. We are seeking a dynamic Managing Director (MD) of Relationship Management to lead and inspire a high-performing team in a business-to-business (B2B) sales environment. This is a pivotal role for a proven leader who can deliver the “best of Schwab” to our advisor clients, leveraging our specialized expertise, innovative technology, and unwavering commitment to client success.

What you have


Reporting to the Premier Wealth Managing Director, the Managing Director (MD) of Relationship Management will, in a business-to-business (B2B) sales environment, provide leadership, sales management and coaching to Relationship Managers and a Support Specialist. 

  • Provide strategic leadership, sales management, and coaching to Relationship Managers and a Support Specialist, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Drive business growth by building and empowering high-performing teams, coaching direct reports, and developing talent to meet evolving business challenges.
  • Represent Schwab’s values and vision with executive presence, demonstrating superior communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.
  • Deliver compelling presentations and negotiate effectively, developing win/win solutions that drive client satisfaction and business results.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought leader, influencing both internal teams and advisor clients.
  • Leverage deep expertise in the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) industry—including technology, operations, practice management, compliance, and fee structures—to support advisor clients’ growth and success.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of Schwab Institutional products, services, and sales processes to communicate the features and benefits of our platform, technologies, and tools.
  • Ensure adherence to Schwab Advisor Services’ sales process and maintain a client-centric approach in all interactions
