Schwab’s newly formed Investment Platforms, Solutions, and Strategy (SIPSS) organization brings together leaders across existing and emerging product areas spanning digital assets, private markets, 3rd party products and platforms, separately managed accounts (SMAs), digital advice, and product strategy. SIPSS is focused on building a premier investment product suite to meet the evolving needs of our clients.

Within SIPSS, the Senior Manager, Business Strategy, will provide support by enabling strong relationships across the SLT and key partners, being the voice of the business, and providing business planning and coordination for the Schwab Investment Platforms, Solutions, & Strategy SLT. This individual will embody Schwab’s leadership principles — leading by example, communicating openly, enabling and inspiring others, excelling with partners, acting decisively, and collaborating effectively.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Assisting the Head of SIPSS and Chief of Staff in decision-making processes and acting as a strategic advisor to maximize enterprise efficiency and culture.
  • Supporting the SLT in shaping the strategic planning and priorities for the enterprise.
  • Collaborating with the Head of SIPSS and SLT to define and execute on the strategic agenda for the broader SIPSS leadership team, including preparing for team meetings, ensuring suitable follow-up action, and organizing key offsites and related activities.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve organizational operations and processes, enhancing collaboration and effectiveness and accelerating progress towards strategic priorities.
  • Planning, executing, and evolving the long-term business initiatives and strategies while supporting relevant projects, deadlines, and goals.
  • Developing impactful executive presentations that articulate our vision, strategy, and progress and socializing with internal and external audiences, including the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Facilitating effective and efficient communications between the SLT, leadership team, enterprise field, and other executives and stakeholders across the firm.
  • Collaborating with and developing strong relationships with key partners across the firm, including, but not limited to, HR, Finance, Corporate Affairs, Corporate Real Estate to maintain open dialogue and plan, execute, and implement projects and updates.
  • Creating project structure, aligning timelines, and holding yourself, leadership, and stakeholders accountable for pace, milestones, and communication.
  • Maintaining larger organizational knowledge and understanding of practices and approaches, helping amplify the SIPSS brand.
  • Leading leadership and employee engagement planning and initiatives to enhance workplace culture, employee satisfaction, and retention.

What you have


Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years in business strategy and project management experience, preferably in consulting or internal strategy group for large, multi-segment organizations.
  • Solid ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives varying in scope and complexity simultaneously, with a high sense of urgency and/or confidentiality.
  • Experience creating and establishing protocols, standards, and documentation for initiatives, supporting and driving large scale decisions.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business judgment and analytical skills, who leads without authority.

Preferred Experience

  • Graduate degree preferred 
  • Ability to demonstrate a bias for action and alignment to goals, with experience executing autonomously on determined strategies.
  • Ability to share feedback and develop and share a point of view and create alignment across all levels of the enterprise.
  • Exceptional organization, executive presence, and demonstrated oral, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Highly resourceful, adaptable, and creative problem solver who can thrive in a dynamic and fast-moving environment, solve issues as they arise, and drive progress in the face of ambiguity.
  • Excellent project management skills, including attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and work efficiently (independently and with teams), to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Experience crafting executive presentations for internal and external audiences that articulate our vision, strategy, and progress.
  • Ability to weigh multiple perspectives, gain consensus, and influence key stakeholders.
  • Commitment to personal accountability, strong working relationships, and trust-building.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
