Corporate Affairs champions Schwab’s story and reputation through internal and external communication channels. Our purpose is to drive positive external stakeholder perceptions of Schwab, strengthen employee engagement across all Schwab channels, and improve Corporate Affairs’ operations and ability to drive business outcomes.

The Strategy & Operations team within Corporate Affairs is responsible for working closely with the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer and Corporate Affairs leadership team to shape and execute our strategic vision for the function and deliver the operational support that enables the Corporate Affairs team to deliver maximum impact to our stakeholders and partners across Schwab. In this capacity, the team is responsible for the Corporate Affairs annual planning process; channel strategy and platforms; business unit risk management; overseeing the programs that help Corporate Affairs employees grow and foster our strong culture; and maintaining and strengthening relationships with key partners across Human Resources, Corporate Real Estate, Finance, Technology, Legal, Compliance and more.

What you’ll do:

As a Product Owner for Communications Technology, you will be responsible for executing the vision, roadmap, administration, and delivery of the social media communication technology capabilities and optimization efforts across multiple platforms leveraged across Corporate Affairs and by other business units communicating via social media platforms. In this capacity, you will partner closely with members of the Corporate Affairs team, Schwab Technology Services (STS), and business stakeholders to ensure our technology solutions support external communications strategies, enhance the employee user experience, and scale with Schwab’s growth and accelerating communications needs.This role leverages your Product Owner experience and offers the opportunity to focus on strategic impact in addition to hands-on development or configuration within communications tools in partnership with STS.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to a high-performing teamof communicators, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. 
  • Influence the product strategy and roadmap for tools used for communicating with external audiencesincluding Sprinklr, Brandwatch, ProofPoint, and Hearsay/Yext. 
  • Translate complex business needs into actionable product requirements,including technical specifications, governance requirements, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Manage the product backlogand ensure alignment to roadmap. Lead planning efforts and track delivery; align and manage key partnerships across the firm.   
  • Serve as platform admin to maintain and manage processes and features in the platform.  
  • Partner cross-functionally with Schwab Technology Services (STS)and external vendorsto design and maintain seamless integrations with downstream systems, ensuring data integrity. 
  • Stay abreast of technology releases and feature previews,proactively assessing impact and championing the adoption of relevant enhancements. 
  • Monitor and proactively consider how artificial intelligencecan help enhance productivity, and create a more seamless experience across key platforms/tools.  
  • Drive continuous improvement initiativesby analyzing system performance, gathering user feedback, and optimizing process efficiency. 

What you have


To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have. 

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of proven success as a Product Owner for technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing platforms that facilitate external social media publishing, monitoring, and moderation; content approval; archiving; and supervision.
  • Direct ownership of enterprise communication or social media management platforms
  • Familiarity with records management, supervision, audit processes, and third-party risk
  • Bachelor’s degree in Product Management, Information Systems, Technology, or related field.
  • Experience managing product roadmaps, prioritization frameworks, and agile delivery practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with API configurations and integration concepts (hands-on experience a plus). 
  • Ability to navigate complex organizational changes and influence stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Balance of technical knowledge and business acumen with an ability to understand and apply scalable solutions that are product agnostic. 
  • Ability to manage dynamic, fast-paced environments, adapt to evolving requirements, and optimize outcomes with limited resources. 
  • Demonstrated experience working with communications platforms that adhere to financial regulations, compliance requirements, and other governance standards. 
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FINRA 3310, FINRA 2210, SEC Rule 17a-3 and 17a-4), supervisory procedures and risk management related to social media a plus.
