Your opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

The Treasury Business Systems Analyst will serve as a senior business-side lead for the Liquidity platform modernization initiative. The role will translate liquidity regulatory reporting, analytics, forecasting, stress testing, and governance needs into clear business and functional requirements; coordinate design decisions across Treasury, Risk, Finance, Data, and Technology; and help deliver a scalable, modular, FR 2052a-first liquidity platform while preserving the stability and compliance of the existing environment.

What you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in business systems analysis, business analysis, product analysis, financial systems, or data-focused technology delivery, preferably within banking, capital markets, Treasury, Risk, or regulatory reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead requirements discovery and convert complex business and regulatory concepts into business requirements, functional and nonfunctional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, data definitions, source-to-target mappings, and system use cases.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data flows, data models, system integrations, controls, and the software development lifecycle, with experience partnering effectively with architects, developers, data engineers, quality engineers, and product owners.
  • Strong SQL and data-analysis skills, including experience querying large datasets, tracing transactions through multiple systems, reconciling outputs, investigating anomalies, and supporting root-cause analysis.
  • Experience with data governance and control disciplines, including data quality, lineage, metadata, issue management, audit evidence, change management, and documentation in a regulated environment.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to drive decisions, manage competing priorities, explain tradeoffs, and create alignment across business and technology teams.
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, agile, and ambiguous environment while maintaining strong attention to detail, ownership, and accountability for high-quality outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of FR 2052a, LCR, NSFR, liquidity stress testing, intraday liquidity, forecasting, funds transfer pricing, or related Treasury processes is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, process-modeling tools, relational databases, cloud data platforms, and reporting or analytics tools is preferred.

What you'll do:

  • Lead business analysis and requirements management for assigned Liquidity modernization workstreams, from discovery and current-state assessment through design, testing, implementation, and post-production validation.
  • Partner with Treasury subject-matter experts to define an FR 2052a-first data foundation that can support FR 2052a, LCR, NSFR, liquidity stress testing, forecasting, intraday monitoring, FTP, CFP/KRI monitoring, and liquidity analytics.
  • Translate business, regulatory, and control expectations into complete, testable requirements for modular calculation services, governed data assets, interfaces, workflow, adjustments, auditability, lineage, and sandbox or what-if capabilities.
  • Facilitate workshops to document current-state processes, identify pain points and manual dependencies, define target-state processes, evaluate alternatives, and secure decisions from business and technology owners.
  • Develop and maintain end-to-end process maps, data-flow diagrams, business rules, data dictionaries, source-to-target mappings, functional specifications, requirements traceability, decision logs, and operating procedures.
  • Serve as the primary business liaison to technology and data teams, clarifying requirements, resolving design questions, evaluating dependencies, and ensuring delivered solutions remain aligned with intended business outcomes and control requirements.
  • Use SQL and analytical techniques to profile data, validate transformation logic, reconcile results, trace defects to source, assess materiality, and support resolution of data or system issues.
  • Define the business testing strategy and acceptance criteria; coordinate test planning, test data, UAT execution, defect prioritization, evidence retention, and business readiness and sign-off.
  • Support phased delivery by helping define the pilot product or data domain, validating the complete source-to-target flow, capturing lessons learned, and establishing repeatable onboarding patterns for additional products and data sources.
  • Ensure modernization work remains coordinated with legacy platform enhancements, regulatory changes, new products, production support, and compensating controls needed during the transition period.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce spreadsheets, manual adjustments, duplicated logic, and key-person dependency while improving scalability, transparency, speed to market, operational resilience, and regulatory readiness.
  • Provide clear status reporting, risk and dependency escalation, decision support, and executive-ready materials for initiative leadership and governance forums; mentor less-experienced analysts and promote consistent business-analysis practices.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
