This position is focused on generating new 401(k) plan sales by partnering with retirement plan advisors, qualifying small and mid-sized employer opportunities, and presenting Schwab Retirement Plan Services capabilities in a consultative, compliance-aware manner.

Schwab Retirement Plan Services (SRPS) is seeking a highly motivated and consultative Inside Sales Representative to drive new business growth among small and mid-sized employers seeking retirement plan solutions. This role is responsible for developing and closing sales opportunities for 401(k) plans through financial advisors who serve as fiduciaries and seek Schwab plan administration, directed trustee, custodial, and brokerage services.

The role works closely with internal sales, relationship management, operations, compliance, and product partners to move qualified opportunities through the sales process and deliver a consistent experience for advisors and plan sponsors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new retirement plan business through advisor referrals and internal lead sources.
  • Manage a sales pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Conduct discovery discussions with advisors and plan sponsors.
  • Qualify opportunities based on plan size, advisor relationship, and strategic fit.
  • Present Schwab retirement plan solutions and pricing.
  • Develop proposals tailored to sponsor and advisor needs.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with retirement plan advisors to generate referrals, support opportunity development, and strengthen Schwab’s position within the advisor community.

What you have


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in the financial services industry
  • Minimum of two years' experience working with retirement plans
  • Knowledge of 401(k) plans, ERISA, mutual funds, collective investment trusts, and banking products commonly used within retirement plans.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses required, or ability to obtain required registrations within 120 days as a condition of employment.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience using CRM tools, managing an inside-sales pipeline, developing advisor or intermediary relationships, and presenting retirement plan solutions to business owners or plan fiduciaries.

In additional to the salary range, this role is eligible for an annual bonus.
