Your opportunity

We believe that, when done right, investing liberates people to create their own destiny. We are driven by our purpose to champion every client’s goals with passion and integrity. We respect and appreciate the diversity of our employees, our clients, and the communities we serve. We challenge conventions strategically to create value for our clients, our firm and the world. We live and bring to life the concept of ‘own your tomorrow’ every day. We champion our employee strengths, guide their development, and invest in their long-term success. We hire optimistic, results-oriented, curious, innovative, and adaptable people with the desire to help our clients and one another succeed.

As a company, we were established by Chuck over 50 years ago to champion Main Street over Wall Street, and to help Americans transform themselves from earners to owners. Through advocacy and innovation, we work to make investing more affordable, accessible and understandable for all. As we enter our sixth decade, we are looking for talented, innovative and driven people who believe they can help themselves, and our clients, create a better future.

Our Opportunity:

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Transformation Team at Schwab advances FP&A processes by acting as trusted partners and advocates for impactful change. We focus on creating effective, lasting processes by leveraging technological advancements, offering strategic support, and ensuring robust risk management and governance.

This role supports our technology and governance evolution area, collaborating with various teams to identify, coordinate, and enhance processes and technology that benefit finance and FP&A objectives. The role involves translating FP&A needs into actionable requirements, driving the implementation and prioritization of FP&A technology, governance, and forecasting initiatives. What you’ll do:

  • Serve as the driving force for major finance and FP&A initiatives throughout the full project life cycle: current state mapping, building design requirements, testing, establishing controls, education, and implementation.
  • Engage with Finance partners and leaders to drive impactful change by identifying, challenging and thoroughly vetting the evolving needs of Finance.
  • Recommend and design solutions that meet stakeholders’ expectations and address the evolving needs of Finance by using expertise in systems, FP&A best practices, process design, and technology solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships within Finance, encouraging teamwork across departments to meet project objectives and create a high performing, engaged, and positive workplace.
  • Drive effective change management to encourage buy-in, ensure projects are well documented, tracked, implemented, and adopted by Finance partners.
  • Promote governance best practices and compliance with model and process standards in new initiatives and remediation efforts. Support remediation through technology and process solutions as required.

What you have

  • Challenger mindset, ability to prioritize the most impactful work, and skilled at building relationships.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, capable of adapting messages to suit different audiences.
  • Proactive team player skilled in coordinating with various teams and stakeholders to deliver timely, high-quality outcomes.
