As a Director, HR Business Partners, you will oversee one direct report and provide HR partner support to the Client Service and Support (CS&S) organization. The CS&S mission is to “make a difference in our clients’ lives by delivering a through client’s eyes service experience, creating a simplified and easier experience for our clients and service professionals, mitigating risks and delivering on scale.”   

In this role, you will serve as a trusted and collaborative leader in providing proactive, practical, and valued HR thought partnership to business leadership while ensuring alignment with Schwab’s corporate culture and business initiatives.  You will also lead efforts with HR Centers of Expertise to develop and deliver integrated talent solutions tailored to the CS&S organization.

Key Outcomes:

  • Diagnosing, defining and translating current and future business needs into an integrated strategic HR plan and talent strategy for the client function.
  • Coordinating and executing strategic HR initiatives for client groups.
  • Serving as a change agent and member of the CS&S extended leadership team to help drive strategic growth plans and objectives across the organization.
  • Providing organizational development interventions and support including organization design, leadership transitions, organizational change and the improvement of communication processes.
  • Assessing the organization’s capabilities by identifying proficiency and talent gaps, ensuring development of people resources and supporting talent assessment and succession plans.
  • Initiating and maintaining effective communications with senior leaders, providing consultation on matters related to performance management, and offering feedback on style and behaviors to improve employee efficiency and engagement.
  • Ensuring and maintaining the alignment on all corporate HR initiatives and programs
  • Implementing and delivering HR programs within the business.
  • Delivering high quality, proactive HR consultation that enables the attainment of strategic business goals and critical initiatives considering client growth objectives.
  • Leading efforts with HR Center of Expertise partners (Talent Acquisition, Compensation, HR Consulting, Data & Analytics) to deliver integrated HR services and solutions tailored to CS&S.
  • Navigating change with empathy and clarity while creating an environment where team members can grow, thrive, and do their best work.

Please Note:  This is an in-office role, requiring on site presence in our Westlake office a minimum of four days per week with the flexibility of working remotely one day per week.

To ensure we fulfill our promise of “challenging the status quo”, this role has specific qualifications candidates should have for success:

Required Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of experience operating as a strategic HR Business Partner, supporting senior level executives, within mid to large-sized organizations.
  • Experience leading direct reports and motivating employees to achieve both tactical and strategic delivery goals.
  • Proven track record of shaping strategy and leading with influence.
  • Demonstrated success helping business teams navigate complex organizational changes.
  • Exceptional business acumen with ability to assess HR implications of business priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Successful history of cultivating strong business relationships to create alignment and support.
  • Experience operating successfully in a complex, matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to impact organizational effectiveness and excel on high performing teams capable of delivering strategic results.
  • Experience in organizational design and creating workforce plans to inform decision-making.
  • Significant experience with workforce analytics along with the ability to use data and reporting to drive strategic decisions that deliver real business results.
  • Proven track record of developing organizational change initiatives that deliver real business results.
  • Executive presence, change agent and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic and systems thinking with operational implementation.
  • Experience providing HR business partner support to a call center or customer service organization.
