Your opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

The Business Systems Analyst will support the business-side delivery of the Liquidity platform modernization initiative. Working under the direction of senior business and product leads, the role will gather and document requirements, analyze liquidity data and processes, coordinate testing and issue resolution, and maintain the documentation and traceability needed to deliver a governed future-state platform while supporting the existing Liquidity environment.

What you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in business systems analysis, business analysis, product analysis, financial systems, data analysis, or technology project delivery, preferably in financial services or another regulated industry.
  • Experience eliciting and documenting business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, business rules, data definitions, use cases, and functional specifications.
  • Working knowledge of data flows, relational databases, system interfaces, data transformation concepts, and the software development lifecycle.
  • Proficiency with SQL and Excel, with the ability to analyze and reconcile large datasets, identify exceptions, investigate data issues, and clearly document findings.
  • Hands-on experience supporting user acceptance testing, system testing, regression testing, defect tracking, test evidence, and post-implementation validation.
  • Familiarity with data governance and control practices such as data quality checks, lineage documentation, issue tracking, change controls, and procedure maintenance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across business, data, and technology teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow through on action items, and work effectively in an agile and evolving environment with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Knowledge of Treasury, liquidity risk, regulatory reporting, FR 2052a, LCR, NSFR, or liquidity stress testing is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, process-mapping tools, cloud or enterprise data platforms, and reporting or analytics tools is preferred.

What you'll do:

  • Support requirements discovery sessions with Treasury, Regulatory Reporting, Risk, Finance, Data, and Technology stakeholders; document outcomes, open questions, dependencies, and decisions.
  • Draft and maintain business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, data definitions, source-to-target mappings, functional specifications, and requirements traceability
  • Analyze current-state processes and manual workflows to identify gaps, duplicate logic, control points, upstream and downstream dependencies, and opportunities for automation or simplification.
  • Perform SQL and Excel-based data analysis to validate source data, transformations, business rules, calculations, reconciliations, and system outputs; document exceptions and support root-cause analysis.
  • Coordinate with technology and data partners to clarify requirements, answer business questions, track development progress, and confirm that functionality meets documented needs.
  • Prepare test scenarios, test cases, expected results, and test data; execute UAT and regression testing; record evidence; log defects; retest fixes; and support business sign-off.
  • Support the phased implementation approach by assisting with pilot validation, onboarding of additional products and data sources, and creation of repeatable implementation and operating documentation.
  • Monitor and track data or system issues, coordinate with appropriate owners, communicate status and impacts, and verify that remediation is complete and sustainable.
  • Support legacy platform enhancements and production validation during the modernization period, including analysis of new products, regulatory changes, upstream data changes, and downstream impacts.
  • Prepare concise status updates, meeting materials, demonstrations, training content, and stakeholder communications; escalate risks, blockers, and unresolved decisions promptly.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
