Your opportunity

2027 Wealth Management Intern

At Schwab, you're empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us challenge the status quo and transform the finance industry together. We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work onsite in the specified location.

About the Wealth Management Academy Internship

As an intern, it's not about what you know today. It's about what you're willing to learn and where you want to go in your career.

The Wealth Management Academy (WMA) Internship is a 9-week paid summer internship designed for students who are interested in pursuing a long-term career in financial planning and wealth management. This program is ideal for students who aspire to become Wealth Advisors, build lasting client relationships, develop comprehensive financial plans, and ultimately pursue their CFP® certification as part of their professional journey.

Unlike traditional sales-focused financial services roles, the Wealth Management Academy is centered on helping clients achieve their financial goals through holistic planning, advice, and long-term relationship management.

About Wealth & Advice Solutions

Schwab's Wealth & Advice Solutions organization helps clients navigate important financial decisions through personalized guidance, comprehensive planning, and advice tailored to their unique goals. Wealth Advisors partner closely with clients to understand their needs, develop financial strategies, and provide ongoing support throughout their financial journey.

As a Wealth Management Academy Intern, you'll gain exposure to how Schwab delivers wealth management services at scale while maintaining a client-first approach. You'll work alongside professionals who help clients build financial confidence through planning, education, and advice.

What You'll Experience

Throughout the internship, you'll participate in meaningful work that provides exposure to financial planning, wealth management, and advisor support functions. Interns may contribute to business initiatives, research and analysis projects, process improvement efforts, and cross-functional collaboration that supports client outcomes.

You will also:

  • Complete both an individual business project and a cohort-based internship project.
  • Participate in professional development workshops and networking opportunities.
  • Learn from Wealth Advisors and business leaders across Wealth & Advice Solutions.
  • Strengthen your ability to analyze information, solve problems, communicate recommendations, and build relationships.
  • Gain insight into the skills, experiences, and licensing pathway required to become a Wealth Advisor.
  • Develop an understanding of Schwab's commitment to financial planning and client-centered advice.

Your contributions matter, your development is supported, and your experience will help you determine whether a career as a financial planner and Wealth Advisor is the right fit for your future.
