The Test Environment Management team is looking for a test environment management resource to support the lower environments used for testing and development.  The role ensures that lower environments are available, stable and fit for purpose across the software delivery lifecycle.  This role provides the opportunity to work with multiple teams across Schwab Technology Services and to support different infrastructure stacks ranging from mainframe to cloud.

What you’ll do:

  • Regularly monitor lower environments to ensure continuous uptime.

  • Triage lower environment issues by:

    • Prioritizing reported issues based on impact and urgency,

    • Re-creating issues for validation,

    • Gathering initial troubleshooting information by reviewing application logs (e.g., Splunk), checking service status via monitoring dashboards (e.g., Grafana), and verifying infrastructure health on platform tools (e.g., PCF),

    • Engaging the corresponding application team to assist with issue resolution,

    • Documenting root cause and preventative actions upon resolution, and closing out the issue.

  • Analyze lower environment issues to identify recurring patterns; document required preventative actions and partner with application teams for resolution.

  • Create and update knowledgebase documentation to support future issue resolution.

  • Support and monitor the lower environment observability dashboard, including:

    • Monitoring applications and services to ensure they are operational,

    • Engaging respective teams to resolve any detected downtime,

    • Maintaining the dashboard by adding, removing, or updating monitored endpoints as necessary.
