As a  Software and Development Engineer on the Advisor Services Data Delivery Team, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and evolving cloud-based data solutions that power high-volume data processing and delivery for Schwab’s advisor clients and strategic third-party partners. Working within a highly collaborative Agile environment, you will lead the development of scalable data integration platforms that enable critical business outcomes while supporting innovation across Schwab’s technology ecosystem.
In this role, you will partner closely with engineers, architects, product owners, business analysts, and global development teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing data solutions. You'll leverage technologies including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, Dataflow, Apache Airflow, and Informatica to build modern data pipelines that transform and distribute business-critical information. Your ability to solve complex technical challenges, drive architectural decisions, improve engineering practices, and influence delivery outcomes will directly impact client experiences and operational success.

What you have


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications.
  • 5+ years of experience working with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience designing and implementing large-scale data processing solutions using GCP technologies including BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Composer, and Terraform.
  • Experience developing applications and services using Java.
  • Experience with SQL, relational databases, stored procedures, and data integration architectures.
  • Experience building and supporting ETL and data transformation solutions.
  • Experience developing and maintaining REST APIs and web services.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD practices and automated deployment processes.
  • Experience writing unit tests and maintaining high code quality standards.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and iterative delivery practices.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to influence technical decisions, guide implementation approaches, and drive delivery outcomes across distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience delivering enterprise-scale cloud and data engineering solutions.
  • Experience with Apache Airflow orchestration frameworks.
  • Experience with Informatica data integration technologies.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or TypeScript.
  • Experience working with offshore and geographically distributed engineering teams.
  • Google Cloud Professional Certification(s).
  • Experience using Jira or similar Agile work management platforms.
  • Proven ability to identify process improvements, drive operational efficiencies, and contribute to engineering best practices.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership within Agile teams.
