Schwab Technology Services partners closely with business and technology leaders to deliver high  impact initiatives that drive meaningful outcomes for our clients and the firm. 

Within this organization, this role supports the Trading organization, focusing on initiatives that that strengthen our market leader position in the active trading of equities, options, futures and more.

Project Managers are responsible for establishing and leading enterprise‑wide, cross‑functional strategic initiatives within the Trading portfolio. They lead a variety of project types, including the delivery of trading technology solutions, large‑scale application development, systems integration, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering, and infrastructure upgrades and deployments that strengthen Schwab’s trading capabilities.

As Schwab transitions to a scaled agile model, this role requires a blend of traditional project management expertise and scaled agile methodology experience, partnering closely with business, technology, and risk stakeholders to deliver outcomes that reduce fraud risk and enhance client trust.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for defining, planning, orchestrating, and delivering a given strategic initiative including business, operational, and information technology deliverables
  • Ensures end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit'
  • Directs large-scale, complex projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents and partners
  • Directly manages all aspects of the project life cycle and oversees all phases of a project
  • Rigorously manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost, and quality parameters
  • Validates financial forecasts, cost assumptions, and provides on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures
  • Works with resource managers to ensure that resource capacity planning is accurately forecast, and provides ongoing reconciliation of actual time spent against forecasts
  • Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan
  • Handles risks and issues management for the project-level risks and interdependencies
  • Partners with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to track Agile development milestones and support Agile practices as needed
  • Manages team relationships to ensure effective delivery
  • Facilitates problem-solving and resolves stakeholder conflict
  • Teaches, coaches, and mentors team members to remove roadblocks and drive project execution

What you have


To ensure that we fulfill our promise of “challenging the status quo,” this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have: 

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of project management experience, managing multiple large, complex and cross functional projects, with emphasis on product development, systems, and technical environments
  • 8+ years of experience with project management tools and artifacts, including MS Project, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, project budgets, change requests, status reports, etc.
  • Experience using AI tools to optimize your project management capability.
  • Demonstrated ability to mobilize and motivate teams, set direction and approach, resolve conflict, deliver tough messages with grace
  • Proven experience with and understanding of various software development methodologies, including Agile/Scrum
  • Proven ability to quickly build relationships and earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated, applied experience establishing and delivering complex projects
  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with equity, options, futures and other financial product electronic trading platforms
  • Experience in a scaled agile environment
  • Release Train Engineer experience
  • Background/experience in financial services industry
  • PMP or PMI-ACP certification
