The Enterprise and Operational Risk Testing (EORT) team is part of the Enterprise and Operational Risk Management organization and executes objective and thematic evaluations of risk management activities across the Company. Reporting to one of the Directors within EORT, the Manager, EORT is responsible for testing process, standards adherence as well as testing the design and effectiveness of controls across the Company’s Risk and Control Self -Assessment (RCSAs). This role will lead testing projects quarterly across different topics/business units including the following risk disciplines: enterprise, operational, third-party, fraud and data. This role is an individual contributor but may manage team members on scheduled testing projects and will be expected to execute testing.

The Manager will have the opportunity to make a broad impact, working across the three lines of defense to collaborate and design assigned testing projects. In this role you will be responsible for holding walk-throughs with the risk and business partners, developing and executing testing steps, drafting issues/opportunities for improvement, and drafting reports. This role allows you to present your findings to EORT leadership as well as risk and business partners.

What you’ll do:

  •  Planning:
    •  participate in the planning process by reviewing 2LOD annual risk assessments for assigned risk vertical and provide input on the annual project plan.
    • Quarterly basis, develop testing project scope, objective, and test steps for non-complex projects with input from direct management.
    • Ability to lead self and collaborate with all testing lines of defense and peers to design non-complex testing projects.
    • Demonstrates some confidence in using digital tools, AI, applications, data, and platforms to access and evaluate information.
    • Identify if data analytics can be used for testing and communicating requests to the Data team.
  • Testing Execution:
    • Ownership and timely execution and adequate documentation of assigned testing projects with minimal error per the EORT procedures and the preceding EORM (Enterprise & Operational Risk Management) testing standards and policies during all phases of the review (Planning and Testing) to allow reperformance ability.
    • Analyze data and evidence objectively to draw sound data backed conclusions. Apply professional skepticism to question assumptions and consider multiple perspectives before arriving at a conclusion. Lead meetings with stakeholders, expresses ideas clearly and professionally in both verbal and written forms, actively listen to others and adapt messages for different audiences, with adequate context.
    • Coordinate with teams across EORT, write clear and precise testing conclusions requiring minimal review and correction, QC peer workpaper deliverables and escalate changes in testing timelines, resourcing, and milestones.
    • Confidently use digital tools, AI, applications, data, and platforms to access, communicate information, and Leverage storytelling as appropriate.
  • Report Writing/Issue Identification and Management:
    • Quarterly basis, write a complete and accurate report that documents the executive summary, background, and scope.
    •  Draft clear and concise issues/opportunities for improvement present issues to ratings council with accurate issue description, root cause, proposed initial rating and rationale, and vet issues with key stakeholders in middle management.
    • Evaluate appropriateness of management action plans. Independently identify opportunities for improvement and communicate with stakeholders.
    • Proactively monitor issue remediation and communicate regularly with business partners on issue remediation status.
    • Clearly and timely document issue validation and QC peer issue validations as needed.
    • Demonstrates some confidence in using digital tools, AI, applications, data, and platforms to access and evaluate information.
  • Committee/Regulatory Reporting: Create initial draft of the testing results summary for Sr. Manager/Director review.
  • Collaborate, Ownership and Respect:
    • Collaborate by putting the team first, continually communicating and actively participating in the EORT planning council, and any subsequent collaboration discussions.

  • Training, Feedback & Certifications
    • Demonstrate ongoing learning through completion of Company-wide and departmental administration and training requirements.
    •  Facilitate team training in areas of expertise.
    • Maintain and enhance professional development and testing skills through on-going education and training.
    • Seek and provide support and feedback to the testing team as needed.
    • Assist with onboarding and ongoing buddy support to new team members.
    • Maintain all required continuing professional education associated with applicable licenses and certifications.
  • Strategic Initiatives and Corporate Engagement
    • initiatives to Participation in EORT and departmental strategic initiatives to support overall EORT objectives.
    • Identify, analyze, and enhance existing processes (both EORT and Stakeholder processes) to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and align outcomes with strategic goals.
    • Identify automation opportunities, implement technology solutions and streamline processes.
    • Participation in broader initiatives for EORM, CRM and the Company.

What you have


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Internal Audit, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Computer Science, Economics, or related areas of study.
  • 3+ years of experience in audit, SOX, or related areas of testing, developing and executing testing, and the ability to evaluate and determine the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management, controls, and processes.
  • Understanding of risk management and internal controls, and the ability to evaluate and determine the adequacy and effectiveness of controls and process reviews, process analysis, business intelligence and problem-solving techniques.
  • Proficiency in risk and control data analysis, ability to incorporate and understand mass information from a variety of sources to recommend an appropriate course of action.
  • Occasional travel out of state for training or specific projects may be required (less than 5%).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated along with the ability to supervise, engage and work with a diverse, inclusive team to bring projects and reporting to professional conclusions.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and an ability to create a clear path forward.
  • Independent judgment with strong analytical, risk assessment, and auditing skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven ability in communicating with senior staff, including executives.
