As a IT Project Manager, Senior Specialist, you will play a key role within The Schwab Technology Services (STS) Portfolio & Project Management (PPM) organization. You will partner with Business and Technology Leaders in the Cybersecurity portfolio to prioritize and execute technology work for strategic business sponsored initiatives, enhancements, as well as standard technology operations, production support, and technology enablement to ensure STS capacity is focused on the most important work for the company. 


You will guide the successful execution of projects spanning product launches, application development, systems integration, and infrastructure enhancements, ensuring alignment to business priorities and delivering results within defined time, cost, and quality expectations. This includes shaping and maintaining integrated delivery plans, proactively managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring clear alignment between strategic objectives and execution. 


In this role, you will leverage strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to navigate complex environments, resolve challenges, and drive progress across multiple stakeholders. You will partner with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and cross-functional teams to support Agile delivery practices, while fostering collaboration and accountability across a highly matrixed organization. Your ability to build trusted relationships, communicate with clarity, and adapt to evolving priorities will be critical to delivering successful outcomes and enabling teams to perform at their best. 

Using your project management expertise and ability to align priorities, you will: 

  • Drive execution of complex initiatives by building and maintaining integrated delivery plans that connect strategy to execution
  • Leverage structured planning and organization skills to manage scope, timelines, cost, quality, risks, and dependencies across multiple projects 
  • Apply critical thinking and problem solving to identify root causes, remove blockers, and guide teams toward effective solutions 
  • Use strong communication and relationship-building skills to align stakeholders, influence decisions, and drive clarity across a matrixed organization 
  • Collaborate with Agile teams (Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and engineers) to support delivery practices and ensure consistent progress
  • Foster accountability and follow-through by ensuring commitments are met and outcomes align to business priorities

What you have


To ensure that we fulfill our promise of “challenging the status quo,” this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have: 

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of project management experience delivering small to medium-scale initiatives within technology or product-driven environments
  • 3+ years of experience using project management tools and artifacts (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, project budgets, status reporting)
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams, setting direction, managing priorities, and resolving conflicts to achieve desired outcomes
  • Proven ability to deliver projects end-to-end, including scope, schedule, cost, and quality management
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify root causes and drive effective solutions 
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience 


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of project management experience in financial services or highly regulated environments
  • Experience working within Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Experience managing projects within a cybersecurity or technology portfolios
  • PMP or PMI-ACP certification 


Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship. 

In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
