We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).  This role is expected to be in the office 4 days a week. 

As part of the Outsourcing Governance Office (OGO), you will play a critical role in shaping and sustaining the long-term success of Schwab Technology Services (STS) outsourcing strategy. This role is centered on driving meaningful outcomes through governance excellence—ensuring vendor engagement models are scalable, efficient, and aligned to enterprise priorities. You will act as a trusted partner to senior leaders, enabling thoughtful decision-making around outsourcing strategy while balancing flexibility in workforce planning with strong risk awareness.

In this role, you will collaborate closely across Corporate Vendor Management, HR, Legal, and Finance to strengthen governance practices and ensure alignment with enterprise standards. You will influence how third-party partnerships are structured, monitored, and optimized—bringing clarity to performance expectations, service delivery, and financial outcomes. Your work will directly impact cost efficiency, operational consistency, and the quality of vendor-delivered work, while supporting Agile teams that rely on external partners to deliver against business priorities.

Success in this role requires the ability to evaluate complex challenges, anticipate risks, and design governance processes that improve transparency, accountability, and performance over time. You will continuously assess outsourcing models, refine metrics and reporting, and champion improvements that enhance both vendor outcomes and internal stakeholder experience. Through strong collaboration and adaptability, you will help ensure the outsourcing program evolves to meet changing business needs while maintaining alignment with enterprise guiding principles.


What you have


To ensure that we fulfill our promise of “challenging the status quo,” this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.  

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3–5+ years of IT, procurement, or vendor-related experience supporting third-party relationships at an enterprise level
  • Demonstrated experience managing and optimizing outsourcing or vendor labor models while maintaining risk awareness across the enterprise
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and build trusted relationships to drive alignment and decision-making
  • Experience analyzing and managing outsourcing capacity based on demand and strategic priorities
  • Track record of improving cost efficiency, productivity, and quality of outsourced work
  • Experience defining performance expectations, tracking outcomes, and improving operational processes
  • Ability to assess complex problems, identify solutions, and implement process improvements in a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Financial services industry experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear insights
  • Experience supporting vendor contracts, service levels, and pricing discussions in partnership with cross-functional teams
  • Experience managing vendor performance through scorecards, metrics, and reporting
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to anticipate risks and recommend proactive solutions
  • Experience working in Agile environments or supporting distributed teams
    Negotiation experience supporting vendor or supplier relationships

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
