The Operations Transformation Program team resides in the Operational Services Group at Charles Schwab and is responsible for leading critical initiatives that support Operations and the firm.  Initiatives include reducing the intake of paper across the firm while also reducing the firm’s cost associated with not-in-good-order (NIGO) client requests.  The team is responsible for partnering with other business organizations to define and implement end to end solutions that deliver the desired client experience while driving scale and efficiency.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead key initiatives in scaling operations, driving efficiency, and transforming client request processes.  This role will play a critical part in enhancing the client experience and reducing the firms’ cost of managing NIGO while minimizing the intake of paper-based client requests.  The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in delivery high-impact projects, process improvement, and stakeholder management across a matrixed organization.

The position is responsible for:

  • Project Management: Lead the end-to-end management of multiple strategic projects.
  • Program Analysis: Ability to evaluate and analyze plans to understand program’s needs, challenges, and opportunities. Expectation to be able to identify problems, propose solutions, and recommend changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of project delivery.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop clear and compelling communication materials, including PowerPoint presentations, tailored to various meeting forums and cross-functional working groups.  Effectively convey project objectives, progress, and outcomes to diverse audiences, ensuring alignment and understanding across stakeholders.
  • Executive Presentation: Develop executive level leadership updates that summarize the objectives, progress, and concepts of the program.
  • Risk Management: Identify risks and dependencies, develop mitigation plans, and proactively address challenges to keep projects on track.

To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates must have current Schwab system knowledge/experience.
  • 6-10 years of experience managing large-scale projects in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry, working in project management and operations is required.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize competing demands, and deliver results under tight deadlines.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
