The WAMS RIA Distribution Team, part of the WAS organization, is looking to add an Enterprise Sales Director to the team. The team plays a critical role in supporting Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firms by increasing awareness, understanding, and adoption of Schwab’s Wealth & Asset Management solutions. The team serves as an education‑focused, consultative resource, helping RIAs navigate Schwab platforms and investment capabilities that support practice growth. WAMS RIA Distribution partners closely with Advisor Services, as well as internal solution, platform, and product teams across the enterprise.

WAMS RIA Distribution is a growing team of dedicated investment professionals supporting the distribution of Managed Investing offers (i.e., Wasmer, SPI, TPI, etc.), Schwab Funds and ETFs, Model Market Center, SMA and Alternative Investment platforms with RIA firms that custody at CS&Co and with other custodians outside of Schwab if applicable. Additionally, RIA Distribution supports the awareness, collaboration, and introduction of other wealth and asset management capabilities to CS&Co platform RIAs.  Each member of WAMS RIA Distribution is committed to serving the needs of client investors. Leveraging not only Schwab products, insights, and research, but Schwab’s educational resources as well.

What you are good at:

The Director will drive and facilitate RIA sales initiatives through a consultative sales and relationship management approach. The ideal candidate must be able to: 

  • Develop a deep understanding of SAM investment solutions and Schwab platform solutions
  • Articulate the firm’s value-proposition and specifics of SAM investment strategies to registered investment advisors, retirement plan consultants/advisors, and other financial professionals.
  • Provide consultative suggestions on appropriate product type, asset class, and use of our strategies to advisors using and considering our strategies.
  • Have proactive on-going communication with clients and prospects and maintaining support throughout the relationship cycle.
  • Travel for client meetings, Schwab sponsored events, industry conferences
  • Effectively partner with other internal business groups & partners that support our WAMS efforts

What you have


  • Series 7, 63 and 65/66 are required
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7-10 years in financial services / Asset Mgmt. with 3-5 RIA channel sales experience
  • ETF, Mutual Fund and SMA sales experience in RIA channel
  • Existing RIA and Schwab Advisor Services client & prospect relationships
  • Ability to articulate investment product features and benefits and speak knowledgeably about philosophy, process, portfolio holdings, and the rationale behind portfolio construction
  • Knowledge of the capital markets, asset allocation concepts, and the asset management industry
  • Have a Holistic understanding of traditional investment styles and vehicles (i.e., separately managed accounts, ETFs, mutual funds, fixed income assets)
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) required
  • Excellent prioritization skills
  • Experience with CRM’s such as Salesforce & Tableau
