Schwab Technology Services is driving the future of how investors manage their financial lives through innovative, scalable technology solutions. As a Manager, Software Development & Engineering on the Fundamental Data Master (FDM) team, you will help modernize the mission-critical data platform that powers Schwab’s investment ecosystem. In this role, you will combine deep software engineering expertise with emerging AI-assisted development practices to design and deliver highly scalable applications, APIs, and data solutions that process complex financial data at enterprise scale.

You will collaborate with engineers, architects, product partners, and business stakeholders to solve challenging technical problems while advancing engineering excellence, developer productivity, and operational resilience. What you have

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
8+ years of software engineering experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise applications.
Current working experience with Schwab systems and processes
Demonstrated ability to deliver solutions across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in Agile environments.
Strong experience developing enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Oracle Database, Linux, Angular, and cloud-based platforms.
Experience designing and supporting RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed application architectures.
Demonstrated ability to apply analytical thinking and problem solving to complex technical challenges and production support situations.
Experience building secure, scalable, reliable software solutions while applying software engineering, testing, and operational excellence best practices.
Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar technologies to accelerate software delivery while maintaining accountability for quality and security.
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, source control, and modern DevOps practices.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to partner across engineering, architecture, product, platform, and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of experience supporting large-scale enterprise software platforms.
Experience within financial services, brokerage, wealth management, banking, or other highly regulated industries.
Experience supporting securities, market data, reference data, or enterprise data management platforms.
Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka, MQ, or similar platforms.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, influence engineering direction, and drive adoption of modern development practices.
Experience mentoring engineers and promoting engineering excellence within high-performing teams.
Knowledge of distributed systems design, cloud-native architectures, and platform engineering principles.
Experience improving developer productivity through automation, AI-assisted workflows, reusable frameworks, or engineering process optimization.
Strong learning agility with demonstrated curiosity around emerging technologies, Generative AI, and software engineering innovation.
Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical applications with demanding performance, reliability, and scalability requirements.
