We hire optimistic, results-oriented, curious, innovative, and adaptable people with the desire to help our clients and one another succeed.

As a company, we were established by Chuck over 40 years ago to champion Main Street over Wall Street, and to help Americans transform themselves from earners to owners. Through advocacy and innovation, we work to make investing more affordable, accessible and understandable for all. As we enter our fifth decade, we are looking for talented, innovative and driven people who believe they can help themselves, and our clients, create a better future.

Your Opportunity:

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

The Financial and Regulatory Reporting team, within the Corporate Controller’s organization, is responsible for delivering accurate, complete, and timely financial and risk reports for the Company and its subsidiaries. The team supports filings provided to federal regulators and the investing public and maintains the governance, controls, and documentation that underpin these critical reporting processes.

We are seeking a Manager to lead key regulatory reporting activities and help advance the team’s reporting, data, and control framework. This role will oversee recurring deliverables, support the implementation of new products and regulatory requirements, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, transparency, and data quality. The Manager will collaborate closely with partners across Accounting, Finance, Risk, Treasury, Product, Technology, and Data Governance.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the preparation, review, and timely submission of assigned financial and regulatory reports.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and subject matter guidance to team members while promoting accountability and continuous development.
  • Interpret reporting instructions and accounting guidance, assess impacts, and coordinate implementation of new or revised requirements.
  • Maintain effective controls, reconciliations, documentation, and evidence to support accurate reporting and audit readiness.
  • Analyze reporting data, investigate variances and data-quality issues, and partner with upstream owners to resolve root causes.
  • Lead process improvement and automation initiatives that strengthen accuracy, efficiency, scalability, and transparency.
  • Support the integration of new products, systems, and data sources into the regulatory reporting framework.
  • Build strong partnerships across Accounting, Finance, Risk, Treasury, Product, Technology, and Data Governance.
  • Communicate complex reporting matters clearly to business partners, leadership, auditors, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to special projects, examinations, and ad hoc analyses as business and regulatory priorities evolve.

What you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.
  • Five or more years of progressive accounting, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, or related financial services experience.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and data governance principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex deliverables, manage competing priorities, and meet firm deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate data, identify issues, and drive resolution.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Preferred experience:
    • Banking, broker-dealer, or other financial services accounting and reporting.
    • Regulatory filings such as Call Reports or public-company reporting such as Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
    • Data analysis or automation tools, including SQL, Microsoft Access, Power Query, Toad Data Point, or Alteryx.
    • Process improvement, change implementation, project management, or cross-functional leadership.
