Your impact begins on day one, and your contributions will help define our future in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and ship mainframe features end-to-end — from design through production — with growing independence.
  • Contribute to mainframe Java integrations — MQ messages, APIs, and data flows that connect legacy systems with Spring Boot service
  • Write production-grade COBOL, JCL, and CICS code; participate in design discussions and code reviews
  • Use AI-assisted engineering tools (Copilot, Claude Code) as part of your day-to-day workflow.
  • Ramp into Java/Spring Boot — actively learn, pair with Java engineers, and pick up Spring Boot tasks as you grow.
  • Own the quality of what you build — tests, monitoring, and post-release behavior.

What you have

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Engineering, CS, or related field.
  • Core Mainframe Engineering
  • 6+ yrs: COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and MQ in production environments.
  • Working experience with batch processing and online transaction processing (OLTP).
  • Mainframe Java Integration
  • Exposure to integrations between mainframe and Java/Spring Boot workloads — MQ messaging, APIs, or data flows. Preferred.
  • Java & Modernization Readiness
  • Java fundamentals and a strong desire to move into the Java/Spring Boot stack within 18–24 months.
  • Willing and able to pick up Spring Boot, REST APIs, and cloud concepts through structured ramp-up and on-the-job delivery.
  • AI-Assisted Engineering
  • Willingness to use AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) day-to-day, with ownership of correctness.
  • Delivery & Collaboration
  • Agile + Atlassian stack (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Delivers committed work reliably; flags blockers early.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Feature ownership — independently designs and ships well-scoped mainframe features; writes clear, testable code and contributes to design discussions.
  • Quality mindset — writes meaningful tests, participates actively in code reviews, and cares about production behavior.
  • Curiosity and growth — seeks out learning opportunities, picks up Java and modern engineering practices quickly, and applies feedback.
