Schwab is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Senior Software Engineer (Grade 56) to join the Digital Transformation Technologies team, where innovation, quality, andexecution excellenceare essential. This role is suited for a seasoned engineer whodemonstratesstrong technical depth, end-to-end ownership, and the ability to influence outcomes across teams.

As Schwab continues to modernize and re-architect its enterprise platforms, this position plays a critical role in delivering client-centric solutions, accelerating time to market, and strengthening platform reliability. The engineer willoperatewith a high degree of autonomy, driving Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration, and DevOps automation, while partnering closely with architects, developers, QA, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a hands-on senior contributor, leading the design, development, testing, and certification of complex EPS workflows across the full SDLC.
  • Define and drive the quality strategy for BPM workflows, ensuring scalability, resilience, and regulatory compliance. 
  • Champion an automation-first approach by integrating test automation and build/release certifications into CI/CD pipelines to reduce cycle time and manual risk.  
  • Serve as a technical mentor and subject-matter expert, guiding peers on QA best practices, DevOps patterns, and automation frameworks.  
  • Collaborate closely with Application Architects, multiple Scrum teams, and business stakeholders to resolve complex issues and deliver high-quality releases on schedule.  
  • Exercise strong technical judgment and decision-making authority, prioritizing work based on client impact, platform risk, and delivery commitments.  
  • Proactively identify gaps, recommend improvements, and drive execution with minimal oversight, consistent with Grade 56 expectations.  

What you have


Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering or Software Quality Assurance, with clear progression in scope, ownership, and responsibility. 
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience automating build, test, and release certification activities within mature DevOps pipelines.  
  • Expert-level understanding of QA methodologies, including risk-based testing, system and regression testing, exploratory testing, and defect triage.  
  • Advanced proficiency in C#.NET and test automation frameworks such as Selenium, along with strong working knowledge of Atlassian tools (Jira, Zephyr, Confluence).  
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.  
  • Proven problem-solving ability, demonstrating effectiveness in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.  
  • Solid experience with Agile and Scaled Agile frameworks, contributing across multiple scrum teams.  
  • Consistent record of independent execution, delivering high-quality results with minimal rework or direction.  
  • Good working knowledge of AI concepts and AI-powered tools used across the software development lifecycle.  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating in a scaled Agile environment, coordinating across multiple interdependent Scrum teams  
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with geographically distributed teams while effectively balancing multiple priorities  
  • Track record of driving technical improvements beyond assigned responsibilities, enhancing overall platform quality and efficiency  
  • Hands-on experience leveraging AI-driven solutions in testing and DevOps to accelerate the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
