This is a unique opportunity to be part of our early growth phase and shape something new, backed by the stability and strength of a Fortune 500 company. Your impact begins on day one, and your contributions will help define our future in the region

We are seeking a skilled and driven Performance Test Engineer to help ensure the scalability, reliability, and resilience of Schwab’s critical applications and platforms. In this role, you will partner closely with application development, quality engineering, infrastructure, and product teams to design and execute performance testing strategies that reduce risk and improve client experience. You will work on complex, enterprise-grade systems and play a key role in identifying bottlenecks early, optimizing application performance, and enabling high-confidence releases across distributed environments. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys combining technical depth, analytical thinking, and collaboration to solve challenging performance and capacity problems at scale.

      • KeyResponsibilities:

        • Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end performance test solutions for web, API, distributed, and microservices-based applications using modern performance engineering tools and frameworks.
        • Analyze business and non-functional requirements to define workload models, performance test scenarios, entry and exit criteria, and measurable service-level objectives.
        • Build and execute load, stress, endurance, spike, and capacity tests to validate application responsiveness, stability, throughput, and scalability under expected and peak conditions.
        • Create reusable test scripts, parameterization, correlation, data preparation, environment configuration, and reporting assets to support repeatable and efficient performance test execution.
        • Monitor application, infrastructure, database, and network behavior during test runs; identify bottlenecks, memory leaks, thread contention, latency issues, and resource saturation points.
        • Collaborate with developers, architects, DevOps, and platform teams to troubleshoot performance issues, recommend tuning opportunities, and validate remediation fixes.
        • Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows to enable earlier detection of performance regressions and support continuous quality practices.
        • Design, script, and execute load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests using tools such as JMeter and LoadRunner.
        • Build and maintain performance test scripts for both legacy distributed systems and microservices running on Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF).
        • Validate performance in hybrid architectures involving on prem systems, messaging layers, APIs, and cloud deployed services.
        • Use APM and monitoring tools (AppD, Splunk) to isolate bottlenecks in on prem systems, PCF hosted services, and integration points.
        • Conduct deep dive diagnostics across the stack: application code, JVM/CLR, database calls, queues, caches, and network paths.
        • Partner with senior engineers and architects when legacy constraints require creative performance tuning solutions.
        • Work cross functionally with development, QA, SRE, and architecture teams to ensure performance considerations are built into the SDLC.
        • Enhance performance testing automation, integrating scenarios into CI/CD pipelines across both on prem and PCF continuous delivery workflows.
        • Deliver clear, actionable performance reports illustrating system behavior across legacy and cloud environments.
        • Produce clear dashboards, reports, and executive summaries that communicate test coverage, risks, findings, trends, and release readiness recommendations.
        • Support environment readiness, test data management, and coordination across dependent systems to ensure successful execution of enterprise-scale performance tests.
        • Contribute to performance engineering standards, tooling improvements, governance practices, and team enablement through knowledge sharing, documentation, and continuous improvement.
