Organization / Role Description:

The Cloud DevOps engineer role will be responsible for supporting DevOps and CICD initiatives across Schwab data platforms. This is a hands-on role working with highly skilled engineers to modernize Schwab’s data platforms at scale.
This role creates and implements DevOps and automation ideas that enable reliable, secure, and scalable deployment of enterprise analytics platforms, including Cloud Data Warehouse (CDW) and Operational Data Exchange (ODX). You will drive and owns CI/CD maturity, platform reliability, and developer velocity across data integration, orchestration, and reporting ecosystems.
As part of the OneSchwab/OneGCC model, this position is accountable for building mature delivery pipelines, adhering standardization and controls, and developing high-quality products that deliver measurable impact across Schwab’s global data ecosystem

What you have


Key Responsibilities:

Core DevOps, DevSecOps & CI/CD
•Act as the DevOps specialist, leveraging DevOps and DevSecOps expertise to design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud data warehouse and analytics ecosystem platforms.
•Develop automation and processes that enable teams to deploy, manage, configure, scale, and monitor applications efficiently.
•Monitor and maintain the stability, performance, and reliability of CI/CD environments.
•Automating build processes using GitHub, GitHub Actions
•Integrate security and quality controls into CI/CD pipelines, including CodeQL, Veracode, and Sonar.
•Develop custom Python based checks and validations and integrate them into CI/CD workflows to enforce standards and reduce risk.

Cloud Platform Engineering & Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
•Deliver solutions in complex, distributed system environments, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform and enterprise data ecosystems, including ETL, BI, and data governance platforms.
•Manage and maintain build and deployment infrastructure, including Bamboo agents, SDKs, service accounts, and keys on Unix based build servers.
•Collaborating with other members of the DevOps team to achieve common goals
•Drive continuous improvements to deployment processes, platform reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
•Stay current with emerging DevOps, SRE, and cloud technology trends; evaluate and adopt new tools and practices where appropriate.

Required Qualifications:

Required Experience
•5+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, cloud automation, or software delivery for enterprise platforms.
•3+ years designing and operating CI/CD pipelines at enterprise scale using Bamboo and/or Jenkins, with demonstrated modernization experience toward GitHub-based delivery.
•2+ years of hands-on experience with GitHub, including GitHub Actions and enterprise repository and pipeline standards.
•2+ years building automation using Ansible, Python, and shell scripting across provisioning, deployment, configuration, and compliance use cases.
•1+ years supporting software platforms within large-scale data ecosystems, including exposure to enterprise ETL and data integration environments (e.g., SSIS, SSIL, Informatica PowerCenter, IICS, Talend, Erwin).
•Demonstrated experience in creating automation for databases Google Big Query, Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server
•Demonstrated experience implementing database change and versioning governance using Liquibase.
•Experience implementing CICD for enterprise job scheduling and orchestration using Control-M and/or Autosys.
•Experience with production monitoring and observability ecosystems including GCP Logging, Splunk, Dynatrace/AppDynamics, and operational dashboarding (e.g., Tableau).

•Proven experience operating in regulated or compliance-driven environments with formal change management controls.
•Experience implementing Veracode, Sonar, CodeQL code scanning in CICD pipelines
•Comfortable working in agile development environments and fostering a collaborative team culture.

Skills and Attributes
•Strong background in performance optimization, application reliability, and incident resolution.
•Partnering with development and platform/prod support teams to identify and resolve deployment issues
•Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and with cross-functional technical and business teams
•Familiarity with automation and operational tooling to reduce manual effort and improve reliability.
•Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
•Ability to communicate clearly and coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders, particularly during incidents or outages.

Preferred Qualifications:

•5+ years of progressive experience in DevOps, DataSecOps, data engineering and automation.
•Experience with GCP technologies and services will be strongly preferred.
•Experience developing and managing cross-enterprise applications in financial services can be a key differentiator.
