What you have

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support cloud-native platforms, Kubernetes environments, and containerized applications across the thinkorswim ecosystem.

• Deliver cloud modernization and developer enablement initiatives by improving platform capabilities, engineering workflows, and automation across the software delivery lifecycle.

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform, Ansible, and Python-based automation.

• Design, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance GitHub and GitHub Actions pipelines supporting build, test, security, compliance, and deployment workflows.

• Partner with Architecture, Security, SRE, CloudOps, and Application Development teams to resolve dependencies, align technical designs, and implement operational improvements.

• Troubleshoot complex issues across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, networking, automation platforms, and production environments.

• Contribute to engineering standards, reusable platform services, operational best practices, and automation frameworks.

• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies in cloud engineering, AI-enabled development, developer productivity, and intelligent software delivery.

• Drive operational readiness and production support by resolving recurring issues, strengthening observability, and implementing reliability improvements.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering, cloud engineering, or DevOps experience.

• Strong hands-on experience with GCP and GKE; Kubernetes and Docker.

• Hands-on experience developing Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration-management solutions with Terraform, Ansible, Python, and Bash.

• Hands-on experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions supporting CI/CD, security, testing, and deployment automation.

• Hands-on DevOps support and SRE experience for large-scale, distributed enterprise Java applications across deployment, runtime operations, incident response, and reliability improvement.

• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, security, observability, and production operations.

• Experience working within Agile teams and collaborating across multiple engineering organizations.

• Practical experience with AI-enabled engineering, prompt engineering, LLM integrations, or MCP frameworks.

• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer certification required.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
