BCAT (Brokerage Customer & Account Technology) is a tower in CDT (Client Data Technology), with a mission to establish Brokerage Customer and Account to support Schwab clients across all line of business. BCAT is responsible for entire lifecycle of Customer and Account data, including but not limited to their roles, restrictions, features and authorities. BCAT organization is responsible to provide quality Brokerage Customer and Account data to all organizations in Schwab.

Contribute to BCAT initiatives by implementing well-scoped features that support new client capabilities and maintain existing capabilities

Build and enhance components in net-new, greenfield functionality under guidance from more senior engineers.

Operate in a fast-paced environment by executing quickly, incorporating feedback, and improving with each iteration.

Learn and apply new technologies while following established engineering standards and practices.

• Performs advanced development, support and implementation of complex systems using specialized domain knowledge and highly developed business expertise
• Leads large projects and programs with limited oversight
• Evaluates business and software industry trends and suggests improvements to processes, products and services 
• Sets standards to deliver high-quality products and services; Sets high standards for self and others
• Implement features and fixes that align with team designs, patterns, and business requirements.
• Write clean, testable code and good documentation for owned work.
• Surface risks, blockers, and dependencies early to senior engineers and the team.

What you have

Required Qualifications:

▪ Designs advanced support processes and mentors peers to optimize functionality and security

▪ Streamlines requirement analysis and validation for enhanced efficiency

▪ Designs efficient processes that ensure quality and resolve issues in software components

▪ Optimizes processes for secure, compliant, and reliable software releases

▪ Optimizes design processes by integrating predictive or adaptive methods with cloud principles

▪ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

▪ 8+ years of experience with mainframe systems based on COBOL, DB2, CICS, VSAM & MF Batch (JCLs, Procs, Control-M etc). Expeierence of integrating mainframe systems with distributed systems is a must.

▪ Proven experience in designing and implement end to end workflows spanning COBOL batch/online (CICS), DB2, VSAM, and Java/Spring Boot microservices

▪ Knowledge of the Agile methodology and experience in an Agile working environment. Agile certification will be a plus

▪ Experience with the Atlassian tool stack (JIRA)

▪ Project delivery with ability to drive projects to successful completion; ability to anticipate project risks/issues and propose creative solutions.

▪ Prior experience interfacing with various partners, including vendors, offshore development teams, and internal groups

▪ Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, influencing, prioritization, decision- making and conflict resolution skills

▪ Excellent written/verbal communication skills.

▪ Working experience in a globably distributed environment with team members working outside of India timezone along with team members working in different US timezones.

▪ Messaging & streaming patterns (MQ series, exposure to Kafka)

▪ Experience in Observability stack (Splunk, AppDynamics,).

▪ Experience in Financial Services industry is a plus

▪ Agile certification (e.g., CSM, SAFe) or architecture certification.
