What you have

Role Description

The role based in Schwab India, part of our Global Capability Center in Hyderabad, will be part of Schwab Asset Management Technology, which is part of Schwab Technology Services. Schwab Asset Management Technology is aligned to support the technology needs of Schwab Asset Management and the broader Schwab organization. As part of the Charles Schwab organization, we champion the needs of investors and seek to enhance the financial lives of our clients in all we do. Operating our business through clients’ eyes and putting them at the center of our decisions, we aim to deliver exceptional experiences to investors and the financial professionals who serve them.
SAM Tech enables SAM to deliver investment solutions at scale — powering the full lifecycle comprising trading, portfolio management, research and operations across SAM Funds, ETFs, and Managed Accounts Solutions. The suite of platforms delivers scalable front, middle and back-office capabilities across Advisor Services and Investor Services, including Alternatives and third-party Insurance and Annuities.
The Data and Distribution Practice Leader will serve as a key leadership point of contact for the India-based Data and Distribution capability, partnering closely with U.S. and India leadership to build local talent, strengthen engineering leadership, and drive a consistent global execution model. This role is less focused on ownership of a single technology stack or platform and more focused on building a scalable practice: developing local leaders, establishing delivery discipline, enabling execution oversight, and advancing delivery excellence across teams. The leader will help shape how work is planned, staffed, executed, measured, and continuously improved across the Data and Distribution domain.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Provide people, practice, and execution leadership for the Data and Distribution capability in Schwab India, partnering with global leaders to establish a strong India-based leadership presence and delivery model.

Serve as the local practice leader and primary point of contact for Data and Distribution leadership needs, ensuring alignment across business priorities, technology strategy, delivery commitments, staffing, and execution health.

Build, mentor, and develop local talent and emerging leaders across engineering, quality, analysis, and delivery roles, creating a sustainable leadership pipeline for the Data and Distribution practice.

Drive a consistent global execution model across India and U.S. teams, including operating rhythms, communication practices, delivery planning, dependency management, escalation paths, and execution transparency.

Provide execution oversight across Data and Distribution initiatives, helping teams manage scope, risks, dependencies, quality, and delivery outcomes in partnership with product, technology, and business stakeholders.

Champion delivery excellence by promoting disciplined Agile execution, continuous improvement, engineering accountability, operational readiness, and measurable delivery outcomes.

Partner with domain and platform leaders to ensure India teams are effectively integrated into global operating models, with clear ownership, strong collaboration, and a shared focus on business outcomes.

Foster a culture of inclusion, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning, ensuring teams are empowered to deliver high-quality solutions and grow as part of Schwab’s broader technology organization.

Demonstrated success as a Practice or Capability Leader with responsibility for talent development, delivery oversight, governance, and business outcomes.
Strong strategic thinking and business acumen with the ability to align execution to organizational priorities and long-term objectives.
Experience partnering with senior technology, product, business, and operations leaders across global organizations.
Strong understanding of enterprise technology delivery, including Agile execution, program management, risk management, governance, and operational excellence.
Proven track record of driving delivery excellence through accountability, execution transparency, continuous improvement, and measurable outcomes.
Experience coaching and developing managers, technical leaders, and high-potential talent to build a sustainable leadership pipeline.
Ability to establish scalable operating models and execution frameworks across globally distributed teams.
Strong influencing, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to drive alignment across multiple organizations.
Functional knowledge of Asset Management, including investment management, trading, research, operations, performance measurement, client reporting, and compliance.
Understanding of Front Office, Middle Office, Data & Distribution capabilities and the end-to-end investment lifecycle.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.

Preffered Qualification

Experience leading teams within a Global Capability Center (GCC) or similar global delivery model.
Experience building and scaling practices, capabilities, or leadership organizations through periods of growth and transformation.
Demonstrated success driving transformation across people, process, technology, and operating models.
