We are looking for a Sr. Manager to lead a Data Engineering team in developing and enabling the strategic use of customer focused, analytical data assets on Google Cloud.  Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic about developing talent and learning new and existing technologies to deliver outstanding data solutions. You need to have proven ability to build and develop a Data Engineering team capable of critical thinking skills with a laser focus on pragmatic problem solving. We require strong ethics, analytical thinking, and the ability to partner with, and influence business stakeholders and technologists across the organization. You should have backgrounds in both software engineering and Data Engineering, along with a strong passion for data integration technology.

What you have

Key Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Data Engineering team by providing coaching, feedback, performance management, and career development support
  • Solid understanding of customer analytics, how analytical data assets are designed to support maximum business value, and delivering optimal solutions based on business context
  • Review, prioritize, and plan the team’s work, identifying dependencies, planning resources, and managing risks to meet release commitments
  • Coach the team, fostering a culture of engineering excellence, and challenging the status quo
  • Design and develop frameworks and data pipelines aligned with the organization’s vision
  • Understand and contribute to the team’s data quality and metadata management strategies
  • Continually identify opportunities for continuous improvement and effectively prioritize
  • Cultivate a culture of open feedback and promoting accountability across the team
  • Facilitate cross-team discussions ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to be heard and that discussion outcomes achieve stated goals
  • Build relationships and trust with domains and teams across the organization
  • Drive complex development projects spanning multiple teams and departments

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 10+ years of experience using modern methodologies to design, build, and support near real-time data pipelines and analytical solutions using GCP, AWS, or Informatica
• 10+ years of experience using Java or Python to deliver data for near real-time, streaming analytics using GCP Managed Airflow (Composer) & Dataflow or Apache Airflow & Beam
  • 10+ years of experience working on agile teams
  • 8+ years of SQL experience with the ability to develop, tune and debug complex SQL
  • 8+ years of experience working with partners documenting business requirements and translating those requirements into resilient solution designs
  • 8+ years translating requirements into relational, non-relational, and dimensional data models
  • 8+ years of experience in delivering solutions on public cloud platforms (Google Cloud preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience writing automated unit, integration, and acceptance tests for data interfaces & data pipelines
  • Proven experience building and leading Data Engineering teams in the design and development of near real-time data pipelines and analytical solutions
  • Ability to coach teams on effective and responsible AI adoption while driving innovation and measurable business outcomes
