Role Description

The Schwab Corporate Applications SAvE team, part of Technology Shared Services, supports the internal platforms behind Schwab's Compliance, Legal, Accounting, Finance, and Vendor Management functions. We are looking for a senior engineer in Hyderabad to lead the technical support of these platforms during the India business day. This is a senior individual contributor role. You will own reliability for a set of applications, lead the response to complex incidents, guide other engineers, and work daily with US-based application owners and engineering teams.

What you'll do

  • Own the reliability and day-to-day health of a portfolio of Corporate Applications during India business hours
  • Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex and high-severity incidents, and lead the response through to resolution
  • Lead problem management: find root causes, drive lasting fixes, and track remediation across teams
  • Guide and review the work of other engineers, including Schwab India staff and vendor resources
  • Set and enforce standards for monitoring, automation, runbooks, and documentation
  • Hand off work cleanly to and from US teams at the start and end of each shift
  • Represent the team in change, disaster recovery, and audit reviews

Responsibilities will include

  • Lead support for production incidents and daily batch and ETL processing across the Corporate Applications stack (e.g., Compliance One, Actimize/CDD, FCCM, eCounsel, Insight, OFSAA, PeopleSoft Financials, Ariba, Clarity)
  • Monitor critical batch schedules in Control-M; resolve failures, reruns, and data exceptions
  • Plan and run disaster recovery tests, patching, certificate renewals, and non-business-hours releases
  • Design and deliver automation for deployment, infrastructure, monitoring, and routine health checks
  • Lead root cause analysis for recurring and systemic issues and drive durable fixes with engineering teams
  • Report status and risk clearly to US stakeholders and senior leaders
  • Mentor engineers and support hiring, onboarding, and knowledge transfer from current support resources
  • Participate in and guide the on-call rotation
  • Other duties as assigned

What you have

  • 10+ years of production support, site reliability, or systems engineering experience, including time as a technical lead
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Deep hands-on experience with Linux and Windows in an enterprise production environment
  • Strong SQL skills (Oracle or SQL Server) for troubleshooting data and batch issues
  • Proven ability to lead incident response, mentor engineers, and drive work across teams with limited direction
  • Strong experience with enterprise batch scheduling (Control-M preferred)
  • Experience with ITSM tools (Remedy/SmartIT or ServiceNow) and monitoring tools (Splunk preferred)
  • Scripting skills for automation (PowerShell, Python, or shell)
  • Clear written and spoken English, and comfort working daily with US-based teams
  • Experience with compliance, legal, financial, or procurement applications a strong plus
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) a plus
  • Financial services experience a plus.
