As an IAM Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in securing Charles Schwab’s enterprise identity ecosystem by supporting authentication, authorization, and privileged access services that enable secure access for employees, contractors, and business applications. You will work closely with engineering, operations, cybersecurity, and application teams to troubleshoot complex identity issues, improve service reliability, and automate operational processes. KeyResponsibilities

  • Provide operational support for enterprise IAM platforms, including authentication, authorization, single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), privileged access management (PAM), and directory services.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents related to identity services while meeting defined service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Monitor IAM infrastructure, perform root cause analysis, implement preventive measures, andparticipatein on-call support rotations.
  • Collaborate with application teams to onboard new applications, troubleshoot access issues, and ensure adherence to enterprise IAM standards.
  • Automate repetitive operational tasks using scripting or automation tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Participate in system upgrades, patching, maintenance activities, and production deployments.
  • Maintain operational documentation, knowledge articles, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support security audits, compliance activities, and access reviews by providing required operational evidence.

What you have


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, orrelatedtechnical discipline.
  • 3–6 years of experience supporting Identity and Access Management or enterprise infrastructure platforms.
  • Hands-on experience supporting one or more IAM technologies such as:
    oPing Identity
    oSailPoint
    o BeyondTrust
    oMicrosoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
    oActive Directory
  • Strong understanding of authentication and authorization protocols including:
    oSAML 2.0
    oOAuth 2.0
    oOpenID Connect (OIDC)
    oLDAP
    oKerberos
  • Experience troubleshooting production issues across Windows and Linux environments.
  • Working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, and basic scripting using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Jira.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills withdemonstratedexperience supporting production environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting enterprise IAM platforms in financial services or highly regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust security principles.
  • Experience working within Agile or DevOps environments.
  • Exposurecloud identity services on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Understanding ofidentity governance and lifecycle management concepts.
  • Relevant certifications such as:
    oCISSP
    oCompTIA Security+
    oPing Identity certifications
  • Technical Nice-to-Have
  • Experience with FIDO2 and passwordless authentication
  • Knowledge of certificate-based authentication and PKI
  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerized IAM services
  • Familiarity with HashiCorp Vault or secrets management platforms
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Ansible)
  • Experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, or other monitoring and observability tools
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Experience integrating IAM solutions with cloud-native applications
  • Familiarity with API gateways and identity federation
  • Understanding of Non-Human Identity (NHI) management and machine identities
  • Experience using automation frameworks to improve operational efficiency
  • Exposure to AI-assisted operations (AIOps) or AI-enabled security tools
