Within Advisor Services, the Business Consulting and Education (BCE) team creates and delivers industry-leading consulting and education programs that help advisors strengthen and grow their businesses. Through consulting engagements, workshops, training programs, and thought leadership, the team helps advisory firms grow, improve profitability, scale effectively, align their teams, and prepare for the future.

As a Business Consultant (Sales Training Focus), you’ll play an important role in helping advisory firms accelerate growth by improving sales effectiveness, client acquisition strategies, and business development practices. This role blends consulting, facilitation, and training to help advisors implement practical sales disciplines that drive stronger results. You’ll partner closely with Relationship Managers and advisory clients to deliver impactful learning experiences, guide implementation, and support behavioral change within firms.

Key Outcomes & Responsibilities

  • Lead sales-focused training workshops, consulting and sales coaching that help advisory firms strengthen business development practices, improve sales processes, and drive client acquisition and growth.
  • Partner with firm leadership and to implement structured sales disciplines, including pipeline management, client engagement strategies, and repeatable processes that improve business outcomes.
  • Facilitate engaging workshops, training sessions, and seminars, both virtual and in-person, using interactive techniques, real-world and strong group facilitation skills.
  • Design and develop scalable sales training curriculum and learning assets based on a proven history of successfully having helped other financial services firms increase sales, including presentations, tools, and other resources that support advisor adoption and implementation.
  • Drive meaningful client outcomes by ensuring training workshops and consulting reflect a genuine understanding of each client’s goals, translating them into behavioral change, and delivering measurable impact and a high-quality client experience.
  • Build strong relationships and credibility with advisors and internal partners, serving as a trusted resource and collaborating closely with Relationship Managers to deepen engagement.
  • Identify opportunities to expand consulting and training adoption across advisor relationships, contributing to client growth and broader business impact.

* This is a remote position with up to 70% travel around the United States.

What you have


To ensure that we fulfill our promise of challenging the status quo and delivering meaningful value to advisors, this role has qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in sales training, consulting, facilitation, or other client-facing roles
  • Strong experience as a subject matter expert on sales processes and execution, as well as client acquisition strategies
  • Demonstrated success balancing training, consulting, facilitation, and relationship management in a fast-paced, client-focused environment, with the ability to deliver engaging workshops, scalable learning experiences, and supporting resources
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills, including success presenting to senior executives
  • Ability to quickly establish trust and credibility with internal partners, listen deeply, and tailor recommendations and implementation strategies to each client’s unique business needs
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining organization, follow-through, urgency, persistence, and accountability, including navigating obstacles creatively to maintain progress and drive outcomes
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to travel up to 70%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in wealth management, financial services, preferably in the RIA industry
  • MBA and/or a clear understanding of business fundamentals (e.g. financial statements, business functions, organization structure)
  • Experience with sales training methodologies or frameworks
  • Ability to develop a sales point of view and translating that into a structured, focused on actionable next steps  
  • Background in coaching or developing sales professionals or teams

In addition to a base salary, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
